Most of who are following this topic since Feb, will be relieved tonight. Will have ample time to relax and get back to normal life after a few month stressful following the bill's progress, reading all kind of comments, speculations.. finally over!!

I can't believe this nightmare came to an end .. I am in this country since more than six years! Then Suddenly 3 week prior to my eligibility a new law comes .. after 35 years of having the same law! Lol!

Folks, I am still wondering about the Pre-PR time? Can we still count them towards our application (YES or NO) before the new residency requirement come into full force?

Waiting for CIC to announce the one year later implementation date... tho gc website already said something it is still a bit blur ...
I'll be eligible on the 26th June and depending on the implementation date I might delay a few days or send it out right away.

anyways, sicko86 you provided many useful comments, personally I benefited so if you ever come to montreal we'll go for a drink

I think it will be a year later as well .. you would they enforce it now? Remember that this will result in alot of changes .. like online forms, Calculator .. I can't see why would they implement that particular clause now..

The only way to confirm .. is going to the "Come into force" section ... and see what clause number is that and see if it is on the same line of the 4/6 .. then we will know if they are attached. I will try to know now.

The part that mentioned Pre-PR time will not come into force until a later date fixed by the governor.

I've been here for 7 years, and four weeks away from applying. I'm not only fully integrated and indistinguishable from a citizen's context, but also law-abiding and correct with the rules in every aspect of the society. Yet, the law is equal for all, just because some extremists, fundamentalists, and crooks exploited a subtly established system of immigration.
