Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the document (which your link goes to) is a prior day's listing of the agenda for the next day (look at the top where it has today's date, Thursday, June 19, and it also says "The Order Paper and Notice Paper is prepared every day in advance of the actual sitting." Thus the 3rd reading is listed to be on the agenda for today (again, Thursday, June 19).

You're correct in your understanding of the schedule.

Is there are ParlVU streaming link for today's third reading? I cannot seem to find it. Thanks!

Guys,
For those of us waiting for citizenship to work in the US. Do you think bill c24 will potentially interfere with folks working in the us on tn visa?

You will be able to access the today's session here: http://senparlvu.parl.gc.ca/Guide.aspx?viewmode=4&categoryid=-1&currentdate=2014-06-19&eventid=9591&languagecode=12298

I think Bill C-24 should start towards the beginning of the session, around 1.30 pm.

When you get your Canadian citizenship (either before the bill, or after the bill with longer residency), and if your occupation and education is in the NAFTA-approved list of occupations, you will still be able to work in the US (if you find an employer willing to hire you). If you go to a job interview and get a job offer, getting the work permit is just a matter of going to a port of entry and the customs and border officers will just give you the permit (if they are satisfied with the details).

So, the most important thing is getting your citizenship (and being on the NAFTA list of occupations) :).

The Conservative government’s overhaul of citizenship laws, Bill C-24, is also expected to receive royal assent, though a source said that may ultimately come in the coming days, as C-24 is also scheduled for third and final reading in the Senate on Thursday.

Does it mean C-24 will have the Royal Assent today?

this means that the b-24 is not in the list today, therefore, at least it will NOT be on today.
There will be another royal assessment before the summer break?

Wow. Speechless.

So, we will have another challenge to the law, once it is passed.

OK, here are a couple quotes from the G&M:

A royal assent ceremony, which is the final step for a bill that has passed the House of Commons and Senate, is scheduled for Thursday with 10 bills expected to be approved. Among the bills is C-23, the controversial Fair Elections Act that overhauls many of the rules governing Canadian elections, as well as several budget implementation bills and a pair of bills relating to First Nations agreements.

The Conservative government’s overhaul of citizenship laws, Bill C-24, is also expected to receive royal assent, though a source said that may ultimately come in the coming days, as C-24 is also scheduled for third and final reading in the Senate on Thursday.

In other words, just chill and see what happens -- they might vote on it today, they might vote on it next week. There's no way to parse what's happening through the Internet. It might come down to issues of how fast votes can be entered into the record, or couriered to a ceremony, or stuff we have no idea about.

all the challenges are regarding dual citizenships. not the issues discussed here.
