The problem with all of this "predicting" is that one person starts a "Rumour" somewhere, and it starts to become "Fact", the more that people repeat it to others..

Seriously, we need to stop all this guesswork and wait until we are told, by someone who has the authority to speak about it, for example, the Government.... Anything else is just "chinese whispers"....

I find it hard to believe that people who qualified to immigrate to Canada as skilled workers don't have enough skill to distinguish who speaks with authority and who doesn't. A lawyer's guess is no more authoritative than the guess of the average person on the street. I would venture so far as to say that even the opposition MP's predictions are shaky at best as they have no control over Parliament's agenda or how fast bills move.

My favorite prediction is DesertLion's. He's been going around in several threads on this topic and predicting that the bill will pass by June 18th, 2014. In one thread he even says he's certain it'll pass before summer recess. It's a good thing he's not betting his life savings on that June 18th deadline because that date is only nine days away and I'd hate to see him go broke.

They voted to move to the report stage of the bill. The Cons also moved that 5 + 5 hours be allocated for this. Members can propose amendments, but they cannot repeat what was already rejected in the committee stage (and all sorts of amendments were tried by the opposition).

Unless there are amendments, there will be no more debate.

After that, third reading, and it is completely up to the Senate then.

I too want a good passport like the Canadian one. It's not fair that just because I was born in some shîtty country, I cannot travel or take advantage of global opportunities. Where is the equality of mankind ?

And I am a stateless person in my fourth decade of age spent all my life without a passport was waiting to file for citizenship end of the year but now I have to wait till end of year 2015.
