Hi,
We recently moved to Canada from the US. We are really confused which bank to choose.

I heard that the offers are not so great as compared to US.

But want to know which bank is good in terms of service, offers, cash back and other stuff.

I went with TD years ago because it had the lowest fees and was close to where we were staying; changed to another one after a few months. None of the options seemed all that great. Here’s an article that describes some of the options and makes recommendations.

As you (hopefully) already know, your U.S. credit rating/report is pretty much worthless in Canada; they don't share much, if any, information with credit reporting agencies. So, you might want to find a bank that has the best `newcomer' program. Scotiabank had (may still have) a good package that included a $300 `bonus' for new residents, as well as a credit card with a $2k limit. Not bad, but certainly no replacement for what you may have had, in terms of credit/perks back home.

Yes I do know that the US credit score has no impact here. But I atleast wanted to know which bank is good in terms of everything. Looks like if one is good in service and other one is good at something else.

Go for CIBC, I am not paying any account fees for 24 hours, got a premium credit card with a 10k limit without any fees.
