As you (hopefully) already know, your U.S. credit rating/report is pretty much worthless in Canada; they don't share much, if any, information with credit reporting agencies. So, you might want to find a bank that has the best `newcomer' program. Scotiabank had (may still have) a good package that included a $300 `bonus' for new residents, as well as a credit card with a $2k limit. Not bad, but certainly no replacement for what you may have had, in terms of credit/perks back home.
