I'm still here and congrats to everyone that got a quick response from Berlin. I'm optimistic that i'll hear good news soon. Thanks for creating a new time line.

My husband's application is still "in process". His meds have expired. Nothing happened during my last bring forward date however my MP has been helpful and was able to tell me that background checks are still going on. The new 11 months processing time for 80% of the cases in 2011 - this is from the day Berlin starts to process your application. I have ordered CAIPS to see if I can figure out what is causing the delay.

Fingers and toes crossed!

that's horrible. The whole process must be really hard on you. I fell already a bit impatient and haven't even be waiting half as long as you have. Are you at least able to stay together or are you waiting apart from each other? I hope you'll get some good news soon.

The wait has been way too long! I have made over 6 trips during this waiting period. Hopefully we get a request for a new medical soon which will give us indication that the background checks are done.

@maya2011, I'm very sorry to hear your case. My heart goes out to you and we pray you soon have your deserved reward.

We received today the request for additional documents: the Police Clearance from Venezuela, to be submitted before the 13/04. We had already started the process for getting it, because they had answered my email about it. However, it is slightly frustrating that the website says they will get it, but then we have to. It would have been so much quicker if they change it to submit with the initial application package. But, anyway, I hope the process goes by fast (Venezuelan beaurocracy is not known for its efficiency).

Got AOR from Berlin VO today :)

Timeline:
Application received by CIC: 18-Nov-11
AOR CPC Mississauga: 21-Jan-12
Sponsorship approval: 23-Jan-12
CSQ (Quebec): 7-Feb-12
AOR Berlin VO: 16-Feb-12

We did it! We sent off our complete application package yesterday, Feb. 14. We're applying as common-law partners, outland, through Berlin.

Now I've got my fingers crossed. The number we got from the postal service for tracking the package keeps telling me the package was "delivered" to the post office we dropped it off at. Hopefully that will change in the next day or two.

I'm terrified we forgot something, or did something wrong, or, failing that, that somebody will lose the application package along the way (including the rather expensive translations!). Still, though, good to know it's finally out there.

Yay! Now the wait begins.
You can also use your tracking number on the Canada Post website once it is in Canada. Ours took exactly 2 weeks to get delivered, but we didn't send it express.

I wont say it never happens, but it is extremely rare. And we've all had those feelings. Congrats on sending!
