I just Have a question....

What does COPR mean?

Thank you in advance

since Dec 1st Berlin doesn't request your passport anymore (if you are from a visa-exempt country), they just send you the COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence). It shows all your personal details and has an expiry date (usually 1 year after you had your medicals done). You just need this document and your passport to 'land' (become a Permanent Resident), you can either enter Canada (by air or car) or you can call the call center to make an appointment at a cic office (if you are already in Canada)

Congrats Elizabeth!

thanks waikiki, I hope you'll get some good news soon.

My application status says "In Process" since last Friday.
Today I received a letter from Berlin requesting proof of cohabitation while in Canada. We thought this was only necessary when applying as common-law (we are married).
They also requested the CSQ (needed for Quebec), although they are supposed to get this directly from MICC Quebec.
At least they are really working on our case :)

I updated the spreadsheet with the date that ecas states they started processing my file.

I recommend whomever can, to do so as well, we all know how important this information can be for people starting out.

I'm guessing you are talking about landing when you are already in Canada. You can either call CIC to make an appointment at a local CIC office or you can land at the border. A trip to the States, or flagpoling (drive to the border and tell them you want to land)

I just got the approval :)
(it is now the husband typing lol)

I am still in Holland. My wife told me i have to make an appointment before booking a flight to Canada.
I thought I could just fly there but she says she read i needed a landing appointment.

Is that true?

Congrats!
no, you don't need an appointment to land, you just book your flight and when entering Canada you tell them you want to land.

Finaly got it yeayyyy

This was the mail i got this week:

Dear Mr.

Your Authorization to Return to Canada (ARC) was approved and issued today.
Consequently, your application for permanent residence in the family class can be finalized, too. To do this, please submit a copy of your valid passport (page with biodata). To speed thing up, you may prefer to email us the copy.

Upon receipt of the copy, we will issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence. We will then mail the confirmation along with your ARC. Please note that both documents must be presented at the port of entry.

Kind regards,
Immigration section

Congrats Marco2011!
