Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum. I'm Lebanese and my husband is Canadian. I'm collecting the documents necessary for the permanent residency application.

The application is not clear about how we should translate the Ikharj Eid (family record) and the Sijil Adli (police record). The application guide says that the translator should sign an affidavit swearing to the veracity of the translation. What does that mean? Is it enough to take the documents to a sworn translator (terjmen m7allaf)? or do I need to have the sworn translator also swear in front of a notary (keteb 3adl) ?

I'm sorry if my question has already been answered, but this topic is very long to search through.

Thank you,

Wilderness

Hi Wilderness, welcome to our forum.
about your question yes just go to sworn translator (terjmen m7allaf) he will translate the documents and do all the job. just tell him you need them to the embassy, because he should stamp the translated doc. from the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Moey, I would really appreciate this translator's name, address, and number.

There's a translator my dad deals with, but I don't know if he's familiar with Canadian embassy papers. What should I tell him he needs to do? Only translate and stamp, or does he need to do something else with the translation (like get it signed at some government office?

Thanks guys,

Wilderness

Hi. I hope everyone is doing well. Is anyone else having issues logging into to the ECAS to check their status today? I've tried all of the different ID numbers and it won't let me in. I had no trouble logging in last week and do so on a daily basis. Any ideas?
Thanks
