I love Montreal! This is not my first time here so I'm well integrated and I know my way around. Life is great when you have chosen the right person to share it with, so where you live with your loved one becomes a detail.
By the way guys, if any of you is coming to Montreal, and you need help with getting around to do your settling papers, let's say your spouse is busy, I'd love to help... I'm serious!!!! Good Luck to everyone and to u Anoushka... Nshalllla you hear gd news sooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have one question, how many days do we have in Lebanon when they stamp the visa on our passports? next month school starts, and i already registered my children for this year, supposing they will stamp my visa next month, will they take in consideration that i can not travel to Canada before next year?

Hello everyone,

I am new to this thread and looking for some answers. I noticed CIC updated their processing times for the Beirut visa office and has removed Damascus Visa office from the list. The new processing time is 31 months for skilled worker applicants. I realize this forum is for family class sponsorship, but as some of you know, waiting and waiting for CIC is a drag and any insight would help me. I was wondering if CIC will take into account the previous months that an applicant was waiting while their files were in Damascus before being transferred to Beirut? Or do we have to wait another 31 months?

We have already been waiting 26 months...so if we have to wait another 31 months, I will not be happy!!

thanks in advance. :)

as far as i know. the waiting time for everyone starts when the application is received. ergo, u still have to wait 5 more months if your application went normally. hopefully
good luck

I agree with iwatchtv.
So basically the transfer of our files from Damascus to Beirut has caused us a delay of 3 extra months (from 14 to 17) so far.
And hopefully it won't add more

Great thanks guys!! Hopefully we all hear good news soon!
Does anybody know how long it takes between the medical tests and the visa? I heard it takes about 3-4 months. We haven't received the medical tests yet...so I have a feeling it will be longer than 5 months ::)

Ajaxxio, your visa expiry date will be till your medical exam expires, so when was the date of your last meds done, add a year to that and you'll get your FC1 visa expiry date; however if your passport expires sooner than your meds, you will have that sooner date as the expiry date. Normally, this would be the given deadline to use the visa i.e. land in Canada. I'm not sure of any special circumstances; but if I were you I wouldn't raise this issue with them because you don't want to cause further delays. Good Luck!!!

The medical tests work differently for Family Class as we do them when filing the application at the start. So not really sure about that one, But,don't worry about the processing time because the extra delay of 30+months is to include the Beirut processing time to the Damascus one. I, for one, don't think that these times are accurate because lots of people in Family class got their visas in 12 months or under, I got it in 15 months and a week; while others like lele or Hab have cross the 18months margin. It is truly a disorganised process and the processing times are just a general guideline of supposed 80% of cases. Good Luck!!!

Hello,
