the application was sent directly to the canadian embassy in damascus and they received it actualy in Jun.5.2011
and yes im a male sponsoring my family.
the Province is Alberta
Just in damascus they asked for the backgroud declaration and some documents i could not submit.
that is everything.
the embassy in amman called me in April.5 they asked many questions, when they knew my family could not travel to jordan for the interview they put the file onhold.
so they were trying to arange for the interview just because the missing documents.
that what forced me to get my family out from syria to lebanon.
now its been 16 months and 2 days

I will start by telling Tati mabrouk for the good sign, actually i got 2 calls like yours and i answered both of them and upon their request i went in person because as they told me, it is much better than to put it in the drop box infront of the embassy.
That was on 16 September (24 days ago) and until now i have no answer or clue about what is hapening. I was planning to call them to ask if i can take my passport back but the lawyer told me that he guess that they need 1 month and that it is better to wait those 6 more days.

I hope my post did not decrease your moral, that was not my intention at all but i wanted to tell you to keep your feet well on the ground, not all that shines is gold.
