The new "Permanent Resident Applications Processed Abroad and Processing Times" is finally online!
After a quick analysis I found out the following:

From April 1st 2012 to March 31st 2013, a total of 589 applications were processed (538 passed and 51 refused) they issued a Visa to 549 applications. 11 more visas were issued more than the application processed in this period. Those 11 are definitely backlog!

From July 1st 2012 to June 30th 2013, a total of 630 apps were processed (576 passed and 54 refused) they issued Visas to 586 apps. 10 more backlog apps cleared. with the number of apps processed went higher, which meant they got faster

From October 1st 2012 until September 30th 2013, a total of 641 app were processed (583 passed and 58 refused) they issued visas to 614 apps!!! 31 more backlog apps cleared!

The 23 months processing time mentioned on the website are actually people who applied in April 2012 and just got their visas stamped.
With this one and the previous analysis concerning people pending it is very obvious that Beirut VO was heavily affected by the crisis in Syria, it caused processing times to rise significantly add to it the strike that happened last summer, but it is clear that since July 2013 Beirut VO was getting back in track.

From what it seems, you guys if you have a straight forward application you should look for a wait somewhere around 15 months, Quebec applicants are looking somewhere around 13 months. Unlucky ones might be delayed (depending how unlucky you are) and lucky ones will get it in less! and those times are likely to drop with time.

All the analysis is based upon Beirut as VO and to all destinations in Canada. Note that in all datasheets Quebec have its own data, in this one the numbers are a little bit different but as conclusion Quebec applicants might get their visas 1-2 months sooner that the rest. I believe because Quebec government does it's own selection process.

13 month is spot on with my processing times.

I got forwarded to CPP-O on Feb 7 2012, I got passport request 13 months later (almost to the day) on March 10.

There are two entries where I can find Eligibility, first one was under the ASSESSMENTS Section (but no actual date), here's the exact wording for the fields that had info in them:
Eligibility: In Progress
Security: Not Started
Criminality: Not Started
Medical: Passed - Expired

Second one is the ELIGIBILITY ASSESSMENT Section itself:
Eligibility Assessment: 1
Created Date: 2013/03/14
Updated: 2014/02/06
Status: Recommend Interview (in the notes towards the end of the file, they specify why "Relationship Length")
Status Date: 2014/02/06
Due Date: 2014/03/14 (That date has passed, but we have heard nothing so far, maybe your notes will have the updated dates)

In the notes, they mention that because my wife has lived in another country (other than Lebanon) for more than 6 months "File to be reviewed by an officer prior to convoking for an Interview" (2014/02/06)

So it specifically mentions and recommends an interview, hopefully if your notes don't specifically mention that, then it means you're cleared to proceed to passport request I wish they would interview me instead of my wife (the principal applicant), she gets very nervous during any kind of formal interview, but I would have had a pleasure talking to them myself!

Hopefully with a 3/14 due date, we'll both be hearing something soon, and that you'll get your passport request even sooner than the status update notes

It is kinda weird that they interview your wife because of a long relationship! I usually hear that they interview because of short relationship and quick marriages! They said exactly that because of a long relationship? Or just the length?

I once was interviewed on my second time applying for the visit visa..she was kinda firm and straight forward, u need to tell ur wife to be veryyyy calm and self confident..from my experience YES they do ask the same question in different forms..I did get the visa back then but it was a tense interview! Although I don't think they meant "Length of Relationship" in the too long sense, I think they meant it as being too short, perhaps they believe that for a long distance relationship 18 months is too short from first contact to marriage? Either way, I think it's just luck , they have to conduct some interviews and so it was our turn hehehe

Thank you for the pointers and the heads up for the interview, yeah, I am a little worried, just because I know how nervous my wife gets. But I will keep reminding her to be completely honest, we have nothing to hide and honesty brings its own calmness (I believe).

Well if they find 18 months short I might expect an interview..we got engaged in July 2012 in Lebanon and married December 2012 in Canada
We sent load of pic s..yes we knw each other since 2002 and we have pics of us in 2008..but after that our relationship was stopped until later... but I really do not know how they think...I wanna be an immigration officer later on lool

Candude check your junk mail! VFS office is run by a private company... They might send using a different mail address than CIC.

@ Christ, I called VFS this morning, they said they had no visibility on processing while the passport was at the embassy.
I already whitelisted their email domain they used to send the confirmation that they received the passport, and I'm checking the VFS online tracking at least once a day. Plus I have checked my junk folder.

@Natti, can you share the emails your husband received? And what time did he receive the notice to pick up the passport?
They said they get the packages back around 2:30pm Beirut time, just checking..
