Do you guys think it's because of Ramadan and Eid? When I check the Amman Visa Office they had a lot of days off between April-July ... Maybe its hold

I dont understand how they can make people pause and uproot their lives for 24 months. Its unacceptable. I want them to put themselves in our shoes.

I literally have had work my school around being able to see my husband. We are still newlyweds and I dont ever want to be far away from him. I left him in May to come do my Spring semester at school and it has been so so difficult. At the same time he's sitting on his Dentistry Degree in a foreign country with a foreign language. Now I have to re-up my life again and fly back to be with him in August.

Honestly it would just be better if by the time our case is at the VO they should give our spouses some sort of visa to start to settle in Canada.

Ugh it just makes me so flustered....

Yeah, If my timeline is the same as hers mine should change into In Process by sometime August.

We will be in Amman from August until January anyways so I dont mind because I'll just go to the embassy everyday.

My application was mailed out in March, so I should be getting the in progress this month (which i dont think it is going to happen.).

Thats a good plan to go to the embassy every day. give them a hard time 8)

I know how you feel...I made the decision to end my career and move to the UAE to be with my husband....at least I can be with him because as a Canadian it's relatively easy to stay as a tourist in the UAE for a long time....now I need to find work here because we need to build up our income of course....but it's not easy not know how long we will end up being here...

So I received SA as of Jul 30 and found out that my husband's application was sent to Amman. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed because the processing times are so long compared to Abu Dhabi. We had requested that his application be sent to Abu Dhabi.

So at least we now know. I think some people have had their applications processed somewhat quickly. I'm hoping we don't have any issues because he wasn't able to get a police clearance from Syria (we included a letter explaining it of course)

Anyone else hear any progress on their application? Hoping everything goes smoothly and everyone is reunited with their family in Canada soon.

I agree it would be nice if they could at least give visit visas so that we can go to Canada and begin the settlement process....it would be nice if my husband could start making contacts so that when he finally gets there, it might be easier to find work.

We applied for a visit visa last month...rejected....we had sent our AOR, explained that we were aware of dual intent and that we were not planning to stay (I had a return ticket back to Dubai), employment letter, rental agreement (my house is rented out in Canada)...

Do you think there are only 3 applications for 2015 out of the Amman office? We need to encourage others to get on this thread so we can keep supporting each other..

one question - for AOR Stage 2 date, was this in your ECAS? the letter they send to you? did you get email for SA? I called CIC this morning to see what the DM was and luckily enough they told me I was approved and that our application was sent to Amman. I assume this isn't AOR2 though?

Im sorry Chilkootcee, I know how it feels to have your case moves somewhere else. E-mail the Amman office with your S/O's proof of status (resident card, work permit, etc) and they should move your case if they havent started processing yet. (which they probably havent because mine has been there since May and its still not in process.)

In terms of police clearance from Syria, unless he got one from Abu Dhabi he should be fine. My husband was able to get a police clearance from Syria somehow and one from Iraq but we explained why we had both.

Also. No progress. hopeing to hear something before the end of the month. My return ticket to Turkey is on August 31st so I'm crossing my fingers to hear something before then.

Thank you so much for your encouragement...would love to hear from other people's experiences as well...surely we can't be the only ones waiting for our application to be processed from Amman....

All things happen for a reason I guess.

I'm back in Canada right now (I'm the sponsor) but will be leaving for UAE next week. I don't think I'll ask for them to transfer our file (there is already a letter in his part of the application asking to be transferred to the Abu Dhabi office...we put it in both parts - mine and his.

So all we can do is pray things go smoothly....I just wish they would update us as things are progressing...makes the waiting at least bearable (and re-assures us that things are moving along...even if it is slow)

You can see why I keep praying for patience LOL!!

I have done the same for Amman and post it in one of Amman threads. It was a very interesting experience reading how things progressed for people, and how they were complaining and waitidng. to be honest i felt sad how Amman Vo let people suffer for 24 months. Humiliation!
I can't seem to find the thread that you listed the timelines in...can you post the link?

I've been going through the posts from the Amman thread (spousal since 2010) and the results are soooo depressing. How can a visa office be so slow? It would be so nice to get all of the timelines on ONE spreadsheet...that way, perhaps we can show this to our MP and maybe get things moving a bit quicker in the Amman office?

Hey dedoz and masriiXo,

I finally added all of the spreadsheet info that dedoz had collected here

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ukPQkMd8eGxhMw3E8xmcUeo6sjsoY1osGDF7Xeiwwh4/edit#gid=658388151

I think we should abandon this thread and return to the other one that seems to be more active (not sure if there are others)

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/amman-spousal-since-january-2012-or-late-2010-t94810.0.html

I guess this means we'll have to update 2 spreadsheets - the 2015 one and the Amman one (because most of the other applications started before 2015)

What an emotional rollercoaster....I'm so relieved they approved my sponsor application...but so nervous and anxious about the rest of it being processed in Amman....so I guess let's help each other get through it.

I'm camping with my family in Sask right now...returning to Dubai next week to stay with my husband....looking forward to being with him again....and I guess the best thing is to put all of this out of my mind (although I'm tempted to see if I can get his application transferred to Abu Dhabi still - not sure what your thoughts are on that).

Take care...better get off these forums for a while.
