"Provide the details of your personal history... Under "Activity", write your occupation or job title if you were working. If you were not working, provide information on what you were doing (for example: unemployed, studying, travelling, retired, in detention, etc.). If you were outside your country of nationality, indicate your status in that country:"

- if a person was unemployed does one need to explain why, or just put unemployed
- does travelling mean "around the world" (like long time traveling) or any trip at all
- also, if travelling for fun - do we put "visitor" for the status in that country

Thanks to all

You basically don't want to have any holes in your history. Every summer I travel because I am a teacher, and I put down where I went every summer. I also had to quit full time work because I went to grad school, but I had a gap of 4 months before school started. I put down unemployed and that I was helping my family take care of my grandmother.

Don't give them a reason to question who you are and where you have been.

Make sure there is NO GAP at all!! I forgot to write what I did in August 2006 (unemployed, waiting to start university after finishing highschool) and they did ask me about that and wanted me to explain which delayed my whole application!

Its usually for foreign travel - visitor/vacation etc
