Your spouse is outside canada so he has to mail paper copy of the ARC application to the primary VO in his country
That’s what we did.
I am in the same situation with you my PR application has been approved, everything passed but waiting for ARC to be approved first before giving us final decision.
ARC takes a while though so make sure you can be able to renew your work permit while in here to be in legal status. All the best in everything.Hope our families get reunited one day

I know especially when they don’t give updates
I know. I think they just send email or letter to pay return cost or just send PPR after final decision is made

I applied for TRV and ARC at the same time, i got approval of the TRV and says i am admissible - security and background check and everything completed, passport got visa. But there is not comment or form for the ARC? What does that mean, is there anything further I need to do? I am not sure.

I had a deportation order back in 2003 and this was mentioned within the application itself. the IRCC agent says nothing further is needed but the website says i need IMM1203B form? I am confused. Please if anyone is able to help provide clarification?

Just received ATIP notes and they haven’t started processing the application
*Eligibility not started* and the documents requested was received. So disappointed. Next year March will be three year for us.
I got nominated for PNP too and I don’t know what to do?

Hello everyone,

Wishing you all well.

Here are some brief details about my case.
  • I had received my stamped Passport with COPR in July, 2024.
  • I was denied boarding to a flight to Toronto in October, 2024.
  • After emailing the consulate in Delhi, I was informed that I would need an ARC.
  • I was highly distressed to say the least since this was never communicated to me directly anywhere in my IRCC account or email.
  • I was a minor and dependent in my mother’s refugee case which was refused. We left in 2006 on a departure order and complied with it.
  • We had paid for our own tickets at the time and were never detained.
  • I do remember that the immigration officer had taken our passports and had walked through the whole flight check in process.
  • No deportation form or certificate was given to us when we left Canada.
  • Fast forward to October 2024, I emailed the embassy twice enquiring why I needed an ARC since we had left on a departure order. No explanation was provided.
  • I tried obtaining information through webforms which were also unanswered.
  • After contacting the call center, the agent put me on hold after 20 minutes and finally informed me that I would need an ARC.
  • I had already paid the $459 fee for the ARC by this time and made my explanation letter and uploaded both documents through the web form on October 17.
I have not received any confirmation that my documents have been received to date or the status of my request.

Has anyone encountered a similar situation? Please let me know.

On a final note, this makes me wonder.
  • Was there some discrepancy in my immigration application?
  • Are visas being granted without complete or thorough processing of documents?
  • And if this is the case, are people reporting it to immigration officials?
  • I understand that immigration officers may have an increased work load, but they are also responsible for a huge decision which greatly impacts the lives of applicants.
  • Should someone not be held accountable for the financial, emotional, and psychological distress that this causes to individuals and families?
  • it might be safe to assume that people avoid complaining due to the fear of negative repercussions to their application.
  • I personally feel that the system needs an overhaul with increased transparency and accountability.
I thank you all for reading this lengthy post and welcome your response/feedback/critique.

I wish everyone all the best in achieving your future dreams and aspirations.
