Yes, thats what i did. Spousal Open Work Permit. Note, mine wasn't an extension. I did not have any previous work permit to extend.

That was possibly the longest 4 month wait of my life to get the OWP.
I wonder if anyone knows...if my SIN expired with my previous work permit (I've not been in status from then until now), I assume I will have to go to Service Canada for them to update the expiry date to match my new permit right?
