I can understand how you feel,i am 23 august AOR too, we just gotta hang in there. There will be an update this month.

Just called the IRCC and finally they said my Background check is in progress ... instead of not started. This all happened in 2 weeks time and info sharing is currently completed while criminality and ss have not started. So I think it will still take until January for any real update given how slow things have been...

You can expect your FD by mid January for sure!
