Looks like you’re in IP2. So, PPR comes next, usually.
Can you please clarify why there are applications that state "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information." from the day 1 of submission. I really don't understand these background check phases

This is called False IP2, the message will be changed to IP1 subsequently.
For mine, the message had stayed as above until my additional document was verified.

So, for most applications right from AOR, the BG check reads “we are processing your background check”. Trends say that’s False IP2. IP1 begins when the status reads “Your application is in progress....”. Then, background checks actually begin (Real IP2) when it changes to “we are processing your background check....”. Now, none of these terms are official, they are just what applicants have coined over the years.

For me, it changed to IP1 after I got ADR to pay RPRF. It had been in False IP2 before now.

Thank you for the prompt reply. Just checked your signature, congratulations! That's amazing!

Thank you for the clarification and good luck on your application! :)

Hello @legalfalcon,
Just wanted to pick your brain on the applicants who weren't able to provide biometrics since the closure of VACs across different nations since February 2020. Are all those applications still in progress waiting for approval ? Or did anyone get their PPRs despite not providing biometrics.

I am CEC Outland applicant waiting for VACs to open in India. But it looks like they would still remain closed since Feb and there are a lot of applicants in line before me not excluding study permits and other TRVs. So It looks like a very long haul for me. Also waiting to see if they will ask me for an RCMP check.

Biometrics are mandatory and if you are not exempt from providing them, you will have to provide biometrics before your application can be finalised.

However, the pending biometrics does not place your application on hold. The application continues to progress.

You should have a VO by now. Tried to raise a CSE to find out eligibility status?
