Yesterday, we saw on GCKey that background check for our application is being processed. We were expecting to receive a request for additional documents but was surprised to receive DM and PPR this morning, so we're both extremely excited.
This forum has been very helpful as we prepared our application and waited for it to be processed. Many thanks for all the feedback and helpful information!
Here's our updated timeline:
Both Sponsor and Primary Applicant (PA) live in the United States; PA is a U.S. citizen. Married for five years - No previous marriage; No dependant.
- 2018-08-14: Paper application sent from the U.S. via FedEx
- 2018-08-17: Paper application received in Sydney, NS.
- 2018-10-03: ECAS Sponsorship Application Status: "We started processing your application on October 3, 2018."
- 2018-10-04: AOR1 - CPC Mississauga: "This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2018/08/17 on behalf of the following member(s): Xxxxx "
- 2018-10-10: Medical exam requested
- 2018-10-10: SA - CPC Mississauga: "We are pleased to inform that you have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor.")
- 2018-10-29: ECAS Permanent Residence Application Status: "We started processing Xxxxx's application on October 29, 2018.")
- 2018-10-30: Medical exam completed by PA
- 2018-11-02: Medical exam passed (GCKey: "You passed the medical exam.")
- 2018:11-07: CPC Mississauga: "This message is being sent to confirm that the Application for Permanent Residence for your
relative(s) will be processed at CPC Mississauga."
- 2018-11-20: BGC - GCKey: "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."
- 2018-11-21: DM - ECAS Permanent Residence Application Status: "Decision Made"
- 2018-11-21: PPR - CPC Mississauga: "The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete."
(Note that we haven't received any e-mail on pre-arrival services yet. Maybe it will come soon.)
