I don't have a UCI # - no SA yet

Do you have a visitor Visa? When I went across the border I was given a visitor visa, the UCI number was on there.

First time I crossed from the US to Canada they gave me a temporary visa as a first time visitor. They took the paper back when I exited the country but I still have a stamp on my passport with a # on it. Its like C1234567788 etc... would that be it?

I'm afraid it isn't. The UCI has 8 numbers and no letters.

Calling CIC

For those who have been trying to call CIC and have not been able to get through or have had long wait times.

I called this morning 8:30AM eastern time. Called 1-613-944-4000. I was through to an officer in 1 minute.

Hope it helps someone. :-)

Early morning seems the best time to call.

I tried giving the receipt # and my full name. They could not find anything. She then asked for my Husband's full name and DOB. She found the application. She asked me to confirm my country of birth - I told her USA.

She then said that because I am the person being sponsored and not the sponsor they were not able to tell me anything except that my application was received. They said my husband would have to call himself for further information. She said after SA, once my PR is in progress then I can get information on the application.

Yeah, I pretty much got that answer too, however she did give me the UCI number. The officer didn't offer you one?

Silly me I didn't even think to ask! Where you able to check the status online with the UCI #?
