CIC received our updated form on 14 October 2014 and we got our SA on 13 Nov. My wife, the sponsor called them about every two weeks to request an update. We got our SA just after she called CIC. Try calling them and maybe you will get lucky

Please do not quote me on that as every officer differs-however, this is the SECOND time a immigration officer explained that situation to him. So maybe the application is moving ahead with no worries and you'll get SA eventually very soon!
