Guys my application was received by CIC on August 5, 2014. I have not received AOR and my ECAS is not active yet. When i called CIC yesterday, they agent could not verify whether or not my application is "in process" or returned to me. I'm now worried.
Anyone in my shoes i.e first week of August?

I am on the same boat. Received by CIC on August 6. No news yet. Looks like they have started from tail. Or may be package returned back and lost by CP

I've seen in other forums that they don't open them strictly in order so remain positive. I am in the same boat. I see people late in August getting their responses and get nervous sometimes. But, they don't do it in order.

No news is good news, that's my motto right now.

Guys, it seems within a specified date range there is no order because we have seen third week of Augustians getting the AOR before me.

So, I think wait and watch.

Beside CIC checking for file completeness, do they perform background checks, security checks CBSA checks before they can progress your application to "In Progress"

I just checked with Chrome, slowly and without the information that I was expecting, but it worked.

Just to share my update. My ecas changed to "in process " today. but i did not receive any emails. Here are the details!

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on August 8, 2014.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on August 8, 2014. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on October 15, 2014.

I don't think they open files in order either. So for those Augusters who have not received updated ECAS, i think you guys will get it very soon!

Hello Folks,

Does anyknow know how CIC return applications? Do they send them by regular mail? (which I believe for sure.) What envelop do they use? The one I sent? As when I sent my application, the envelop I used was my company's. The mailing adress at the left top indicated my company's address. The fee for FeDex was way cheaper using the company's account. But in the application, I wroted my homd address as I didn't want to receive any personal stuff at work. (There are possibility to lose it as most of company gets tons of mails every day.)

Mine was received on August 15... And I am now worried about what if they return my application..
