Any update guys ?!
Nothing yet, but July applicants' timeline suggests we'll see some of us getting their ECAS updated in a week or two: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/july-2014-citizenship-applications-t225926.540.html

Hi guys, i got my application returned today.
CIC received my case on August 1st.
In the return letter, it said 'the school records provided for yourself do not cover the 4 year period preceding the data of your application. Please send us a photocopy of school records for each of the 4 years during the relevant 4 year period.'

No it did not happen to me. Its been 9 weeks now since they recieved my app and no news yet.
Earliest return period I heard on this forum is two weeks and average is 50-60 days. I believe It may fluctuate up to three months depending on the volume turned in.
We can't do anything if it returns, so no use of worrying anyway; if you pass the first 60 days mark, take it as some relief and relax!!

We are in the same week. Did you get any thing from them ?
The average for AOR used to be 55-60 days until recently. It seems that the trend has been skewed by the high number of applications in June.
From what I see, 75-80 days is more realistic for August applicants. Anything earlier is bonus.

You're right.. it seems like the volume almost tripled in June. So adding a few more days to AOR makes sense.
The reason might be people rushing in uncertainty to board the boat before flagging off C-24.

Hi Don,
I am wondering why CIC asked you to submit school records in the past 4 year period preceding the date of your application. The guideline states you only have to do this if you attended school in the last 4 years preceding the date of your application. Did you go to school? Please see guideline below:

4. Education records

Provide photocopies of all your official education records if you attended an educational institution in the four (4) years immediately before the date of your application. Official education records are:

report cards; or
transcripts; or
attendance records

The education records must cover each calendar year, if applicable. It is sufficient to submit one official education document per calendar year of schooling during the relevant four (4) year period. Note: You are not required to submit proof of attendance at English/French as a second language training programs.

In addition, provide photocopies of official education records for all children in Canada or abroad who were under the age of 18 in the last four (4) years immediately before the date of your application, even if you are not applying for Canadian citizenship on their behalf. You must also provide documents for any children who are already Canadian citizens, if applicable.

Note: Student identification cards and letters from institutions, teachers, principals are not accepted as official education records. For example, an official transcript from an educational institution would satisfy this requirement. A letter from an institution is only acceptable in the following two circumstances:

Child has recently enrolled in school and a report card has not yet been issued
Child is being homeschooled (see below)

Format: Clear and legible photocopy

Home schooling

If any of your children under the age of 18 were home schooled, you must submit photocopies of written proof of registration as determined by the respective Ministry of Education in the province or territory where you live.
