I see!! Im not really worried about them thinking our relationship is not genuine. He and I have 2 children, married, a house, and well all of that. We live in the UK just now and I am a permenant resident here in Scotland. Have been for 3 years. And as far as him being a criminal, nah! haha Hes in the RAF and works as a weapons engineer. Im a wee bit worried i guess just cause someone is making the biggest decision of your life for you but, what can ya do. What do the people that get rejected do if that happens? I know you can appeal but that really stinks if you dont get in!

You should be ok with a case like that! There have been insanely stupid decisions made by CIC where married couples with children are accused of having non-genuine relationships, but usually cases like yours go over quite well. If you are denied, you appeal. But to have an appeal scheduled can take a year and it often ends up taking longer than the original stage 1+2 together. Some people reapply all together (if they have new evidence) because it's shorter, but they wont look at your case differently unless something has chanegd (ie. if you applied common-law maybe you marry and live together for longer or something - you could get away with a new case)... Anyway, I dont think you should be stressing about being rejected... your case seems solid. Good luck!

aww, thanks!! Its just all a wee bit nerve racking eh! MY ecas wont work with none of my file numbers. Is that normal?

There should be an underlined status saying 'application received' 'in process' or some such between the lines you have quoted.

Read it on another thread that sometimes this is all you get when ecas first goes live...should be ok in a day or two.

Ah that's annoying Mrs.Sam How long ago did you complete Stage 1? For me it's been 5 weeks and I haven't received any confirmation that my VO has my file- so I am planning to contact them to confirm.

i recived email with UCI number and application number yesturday but it does not say that my case is at what stage. my file was recived on 13 aug

For everyone asking about not being able to sign into Ecas yet or getting that "click here box"... that is normal for someone who just recently got approved (within the last week or so) and should disappear within the next couple of days. I couldnt even sign in yesterday (said my info was wrong) and today I can but I have the box it says to click to remove ability to see stuff... DO NOT CLICK THE BOX or you cant check your ecas in the future. You details will eventually be in there.. just give it time.

Hi there! Just finally getting around to adding my timeline stuff.

I'm from the U.S. (Portland, Oregon to be exact) and I'm in Canada on a 3-year NAFTA work visa (expires 5/2013). My common-law husband is Canadian (St. John's, Newfoundland), and we live just outside Toronto. We were friends online for 8 years before we ever hooked up, and we've been together for nearly 3 years. Ain't love grand? <3

We separated our application into 3 manila folders: His paperwork, My paperwork, and Proof of Relationship/Identity paperwork. Printed everything double-sided as well to cut down on weight/size of the application. ;D

Got medicals done 3/29/12
Received FBI background check 5/15/12
Sent common-law spouse PR application to Mississauga via courier on 8/7/12.
Received spouse approval 9/4/12 (yeah, I just about died of shock when that got approved so quickly!)
Annnnnnd now we're just waiting on Ottawa.

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed, hoping for a great Christmas or birthday/anniversary (January) present!

Are you applying inland through Ottawa or does Ottawa process your outland app because of your home state (USA) location? Good luck!

I'm applying outland.

Oh yeah, got our Stage 1 AOR via email on 9/2/12, which is why it was such a shock when we got the sponsor approval just 2 days later.

Wow, that's awesome, congrats! I believe that just means they're looking at it and making sure everything's there, and that once the status changes to "Decision Made" is when it's actually approved. I could be wrong though...

You're correct. This is just an AOR, but the approval will come very soon now!

Congrats to everyone who has gotten their approvals, and to those still waiting, stay strong there's not much longer to wait =)
