I really think it’s for formality because some people who already got PPR reported receiving pre-arrival emails as well. We’ll continue to wait.
Well, congratulations to you! Pre arrival mail is still a very good newsNope I didn’t get FD or PPR yet
but it was a generic email seems like a formality
Well, as far as I know, a pre arrival letter means that you are almost through with your application and you should be getting your FD within a week or two. Thats good newsI really think it’s for formality because some people who already got PPR reported receiving pre-arrival emails as well. We’ll continue to wait.
It is an email that introduces you to various pre-arrival services for settlement. Wrote about it here a few minutes ago in response to someone else's similar comment: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/march-2024-aor.839159/post-10867376What exactly is that? What does the mail say
You also got a FD last week right?
I did receive pre-arrival email today too@Candidatt @priyankabhalla @canae22 did anyone of you receive pre-arrival email today?
Oh got it.It is an email that introduces you to various pre-arrival services for settlement. Wrote about it here a few minutes ago in response to someone else's similar comment: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/march-2024-aor.839159/post-10867376
It is not necessary that you'll get this email before your PPR/RFV. Most don't get it before their approval. Pre-arrival services helpful if you want to understand things like cultural norms, gain basic understanding of housing, things around regulated professions, etc.Oh got it.
I guess everyone between 1st to 3rd April AORs have got this mail. I am a 6th April AOR so maybe I will get it later. Anyway, it doesnt hold much significance going by what you said right

Will add that for those that will receive RFV mails, you'll also get that portion in the PPR letter... So don't worry if you don't get a seperate pre-arrival services letter. As has been said most don't receive it... It used to come from specific Visa offices like Montreal, RROC etc.It is not necessary that you'll get this email before your PPR/RFV. Most don't get it before their approval. Pre-arrival services helpful if you want to understand things like cultural norms, gain basic understanding of housing, things around regulated professions, etc.
Keep up hope, it'll come. Find ways and avenues to take your mind off of IRCC, I know it's easier said than done.Congrats @Anulika87 @Serendipity... and @canae22
In my case no update. No pre-arrival letter. Effectively 100 days post AOR (April 01).
Officially marking 100 days today. AOR Apr 01.Keep up hope, it'll come. Find ways and avenues to take your mind off of IRCC, I know it's easier said than done.
I am exactly in the same boat as you. Just that Im april 6 AOR, everything else is exactly the same. Lets not get disheartened. Hoping for the bestOfficially marking 100 days today. AOR Apr 01.
Checked GCKey and tracker. Nothing yet.
Unlike the people who had their eligibility passed at the 55, 65, 75, 85 or 95 day mark mine is showing eligibility not started on the tracker.
The tracker is also not acknowledging the call I gave last week on July 04. Nor is there an acknowledgment of the doc I submitted on June 25. GCKey has acknowledged the doc submission though. The only thing pending on background is security, but that can’t start until eligibility is passed.
The tracker is starting to lag vis-a-vis GCKey and I fear it will stay like that until FD.
This whole journey is making me create artificial scarcities in my mind. As if Canada was the only shore I could beach at and that this was an end-all, be-all situation (or be-all, end-all however you like it). AlI I know is that I believed in Canada and would like Canada to believe in me too. Bit sad that my case has to drag out like this. On the bright side, I’m hoping this week will bring some good updates. (Edit: fixed some typos)
