Hi! I received my citizenship oath appointment email out of the blue - about 8 days in advance on 17th Feb. I'm a single applicant from Toronto. Mailed my application in April 2021. Below is a my timeline from the status tracker account.

Hi everyone,
I did my test last December and the status is now "Completed". Background verification was also "Completed" in January, but Prohibition is "In Progress". I have not received finger print request yet.

1- Is there still a chance that they will request fingerprint or police certificates from other countries?
2- What exactly is the difference between Background Verification and Prohibition? I always thought Prohibitions is part of Background Verification?

It is online until further notice .As long as you are not leaving the country, you should be fine.If you are moving to a different province permanently then you need to update your address with IRCC.You will destroy your pr card after taking the oath and you will not be able to come back to Canada without one.

I got an email today from IRCC asking for copies of my passport pages. I uploaded copies during my online application, strangely they want it again. Also the letter is addressed as an "Invitation to an interview with a citizenship official and verification of identity/ documents". I'm assuming this is not the oath ceremony step of the process. My progress is as follows [Online application | Test Window Dec 03 - 21 | FP request Dec 30,2021 | FP submitted Jan 06 2022 | BG completed Jan 20 2022].

Anyone else with similar experience....One thing is clear, there is no set sequence of steps in this process... Appreciate any feedback....

Hi all , i want to ask about the family applications background check update ,is shown completed for the Husbund but not for the wife is this normal thing or usually the update should come for both of them together

Some applicants have been requested to submit passport copies, they just want to verify the documents and the travel dates during your eligibility period. It appears that after the interview, if there is one required, the process flow very quick. Every case is different.

Yes, sometimes it takes longer to get the BG check verified from one family member to another, and there have been some cases, where Fingerprints could be required from one of the family members. Every case is different.

new tracker which had everything except oath ceremony completed had a ghost update on 15th feb

TRACKER UPDATE

Happy Tuesday folks!

My tracker was updated today (I check 3 times a day): Language skills, Physical presence, and Prohibition all completed Feb 14.
Citizenship ceremony not started
