Hello all,

I did some probability calculations assuming a normal distribution for the number of days between Test Date and Oath letter date. The sample was taken from folks who applied in March and April 2021. The sample size was not huge, only 35 so take the results with a grain of salt.

Here are the results and I hope it provides some clarity and eases anxiety for all.

AFAICT, it depends entirely on the whims of the person working your case. Usually, fingerprinting and background check happen before the test, but I got the fingerprinting request at the same time as my test invite and others have that too.

I got my test passed but no fp request yet. Does it mean they will ask for fp request eventually?

I think that if the background check is complete, you are probably not going to get a fingerprinting request. If background is incomplete and you've passed the test, I think that it is likely that you'll get a fingerprinting request at some point.

Hi, wondering if anyone has faced this situation. I went online to take my citizenship test. Although my built in laptop camera works, in step 6 of 9 for ID card picture before starting the test, the website keeps failing to recognise the camera (made sure all permissions were enabled,etc). What should I do? Try an external webcamera or try a different laptop.

Thanks for your reply. Seems like my issue is builtin webcam not working on google chrome. It works in firefox. However, the letter mentions explicitly to take test in Google chrome (for windows I guess) or safari (for mac os i guess). Has anyone attempted test in firefox?

My impression is that it is extremely common for that to happen. I think most of that is just verifying that the proofs that you submitted with your application are valid.
