Hi guys, I received my Oath Ceremony email (Zoom link). They said in the email that if you wish to sign the Oath form electronically (after Oath), you need to extract that specific page and email it back to the office. But the form itself is only 1 page, it doesn't require to be extracted. Can someone just verify this? Thank you.

Anyone receive oath yet if your application was considered non-routine?

Hello all,

I received my fingerprint request in Oct 2019 and nothing since then. I have communicated with CIC numerous times via phone and webforms. Every time they tell me everything seems to be in order and I need to keep waiting.

While I understand for special cases (FP req) it may take longer time and the pandemic is definitely not helping, the long wait time is becoming an issue now since my PR card expired as well. I have sent an application for a renewal months ago and no reply from them yet (no acknowledgement or anything). When I try to check my PR renewal application status, even though I choose PR renewal but it directly takes me for my citizenship application status!

Last I spoke to CIC they told me my citizenship application is at the background check status and since a 3rd party organization does it, it can take from 7 days to even 1 year and they cannot check the status of it.

Would anybody know if there is any way I can expedite the process? I don't have any emergency that I can request for (or I can think of).

Regards and congrats to all who had already received their citizenship :)

If we got a employment in US. Can we request immigration to speed up my application process?

IMO, I don't think that'll be a valid reason for urgent processing. IRCC is simply going to ask you to apply for a visa with your existing passport (unless you are a refugee and you can't get a passport AND you can't get a visa with a refugee travel document). But if you want to go ahead and try, that's your choice.

Think about it, you are asking Canada to give you a citizenship only for you to get a job and contribute elsewhere. The answer is No. Others tried it, and failed, and made their intentions clear to IRCC.

Hello Admins,

Please update my timeline as follows:

Oath Letter Sep 13, 2021 and Oath ceremony Sep 22, 2021. Officially Canadian!

Congratulations ...

After a couple of online complaint forms to IRCC and a handwritten letter to the Vancouver office asking how their oath "queue" actually works my wife is finally invited to take the oath on October 8th. We had contacted a lawyer to start the mandamus process but will not need to continue with that at this point.

What happened with you? Did you sign electronically?

Did the lawyer send the letter of your intent to go for the mandamus?
