Its not true. Both border systems will have correct data on when you left and entered. Both share information.Used to travel a lot for work and had a lot of in and out of the country travel. Mainly to the US. Which the records are not kept very well on both side of the borders. Canada does not even know when you crossed into the US and only knows when you crossed back. Just seems crazy how bad their records are. They are supposed to be correcting it but not sure when that will be.
Its the lazy officers who are not reviewing the travel dates we submitted with cbsa records. But did you submit accurate records?
My colleague was a commuter and he had no issues getting it done in 2019. So i think it depends on the officer and the accuracy of application travel records.
