Hello everyone! i am currently in Canada visiting my boyfriend. I am from the philippines..I am currently holding a visitor visa..My boyfriend is a Permanent resident in Canada. We will be getting married here in Saskatchewan this coming june..should we apply for inland or outland application? Thank you..


Lets say if i will apply for outland should i apply for extension for my visit visa before 6 months? If i will stay in canada?

outland is much quicker, even with the long processing times of the phillipines. If you apply outland you will need to independently maintain your legal status in canada as there is no bridging visas for an outland app in process.

If you go inland you will be able to work earlier (4 months) and stay in canada but wont be PR for close to 2 years. Outland will be quicker.

Seeing as the wait time for sa is now down to 37 days i wonder if those who are over this time would be able to find any info about their SA...

I heard from a few applicants that they had their SA sent in the mail when they called the CIC to check. Apparently they're not doing a good job up updating eCAS.

I'm at day 36 now, so let's hope I get mine any day now! I will call on Monday if I don't hear or see anything.

37 days is still only an average. There are still going to be people who unfortunately end up having their SA take much longer. Those people are normally still in the minority. It's also possible that many of the applicants from the last week of March already have their SA and don't know it yet (SA sent via snail mail, eCAS not updated, etc).

Yeah its pretty strange how it goes down when there are so many people waiting.

Must remember though that only a fraction of applicants use this website.
