I have an unlimited talk text and data plan from WIND mobile for $45 CAD a month. You have to catch them when they have their holiday plans ;D.

My application was received. It actually arrived yesterday afternoon and was signed for by a David.

We need a post PR section with tips like these. I've been living away from home so long. I can't wait to return. We can keep in touch here and let each other know how things are going and any good tips.

I think that's a great idea. The only downside to WIND is they don't offer LTE yet and don't have the most reliable coverage. Shaw just bought them, so I expect them to have LTE and stronger coverage within a few years. It's still way more affordable than Fido or anything like that. Most Canadian cellphone plans remind me of how plans used to be in the US about 6-8 years ago.

Yeah all the Italian companies here are switching to fiber and we pay about $40can dollars a month for high speed DSL. Unlimited cell phone plan for 30 a month. There's a lot more competition between companies here.

London and Australia in general have quite high prices. Canada has high rent and home prices. That's gonna eat up most of the salary. I hope this changes. when you cross the border in Niagara, you can visit a real estate agency and be shocked by the difference. I've been looking at renting. We also have to think about bugs. http://www.bedbugregistry.com/ Because this is an issue too that I hope I don't have to deal with and have experiences in TO.

Well, I guess to me it doesn't seem so expensive here since I'm from Alaska. Cost of living there is pretty high anyways, plus very high home prices. It's actually fairly comparable to here, except for you could still find better cheap prepaid cellphone plans there.

had bedbugs in vancouver. not a nice experience.

canada is a lot cheaper than oz in general, but phone plans here are pretty decent. inet and housing and general shopping are a nightmare though. everywhere is going to feel affordable aagin after living in melbourne i think.

except for vancouver that is.

After years in London it doesn't seem so expensive to compare in rent prices and house prices lol 8) ;D

1: Yes. It's the physician's job to carry out any testing or notify you that you need additional tests, not the CIC. I was notified during my exam that I needed an extra blood test to make sure my kidneys were functioning well, because my BMI is over 25.
2: Yes. Excess demand does not apply to spouses. Even if she had a thyroid condition she would not be denied.
3: No. The CIC won't even be getting to her medical for months when they actually start processing the principal applicant's side.

Thanks! Wondering if Decoy24601 or anyone else can clear some fog for my partner and myself.

My partner went back to the doctor's office upon request by the doctor's office, now a biopsy, a CT scan and blood test are ordered for her thyroid condition. Here comes these questions:

1. The doctor claims there's a reply from the Canadian Embassy requesting further tests be done on her thyroid condition and provide professional opinion on "how will the condition pan out in 5-10 years and if that will affect her ability to work". Well, it's an upfront medical, will the Embassy really response to an un-existing case? Secondly, does it make sense for the doctor to write report on "how will the condition pan out in 5-10 years and if that will affect her ability to work" for a Family sponsorship sponsoring common law partner case (when excess demand doesn't apply to spouses)? Just wondering if that's a little jumping the gun and doctor ordering excessive testings at such an early stage.

2. Since a biopsy is invasive to some extent, and the current processing time is quoted 17 months, I certain don't want my partner to be "on the table" again in 12 months should our case is longer than 12 months to be approved since all medical reports will be expired then. In light of this factor, is it desirable to push the biopsy be done later? If so, how many month of delay should make sense (CIC-Missisauga received our application April 18 per courier delivery notice)? VO should be Hong Kong, I see threads some applicants claim to be requested for re-medical. Wondering if we should wait at least until SA or AOR2 is received or even longer?

Well, we are not against the idea of getting her condition cleared just even for our own sake, we just want to avoid unnecessary pain, risk, money and time spent if at all possible.

Thank you!
