Yeah. Last August I would have been expecting at least 8-10 months. It's around 5 now and 4 months or less is becoming more and more common. I hope they continue hiring more staff for this and other VOs. It will take time, but I think we're seeing the start of faster processing times overall.

I hope so too. The earlier we get PR the sooner we can get ourselves organised, buy tickets, etc. I need to give the landlady 6 months notice. This is the norm where I live. I realised that there are direct and relatively inexpensive flights from Venice to Toronto from mid may to Oct. 22. That means that we should move at that time. I have a cat and don't want to add more stress to her. The med exam will expire April 12, not sure we can ask for an extension, or we can move in October but that is so soon and we want to know months before. I saw in the outland 2015 spreadsheet, someone from Rome VO got their PR in 3 months. That would be awesome!

Anyway, do you guys know anything about asking for extensions after the decision has been made?

have no idea how to use this thing but i fall into the april month since i sent in my application april 4 delivered april 5. i have yet to hear from them.. hoping to get my AOR1 soon! so scared i might get my application sent back to me although i checked it about 999 times before sending it in the mail

I don't think you can actually ask for an extension for your medical. They will either extend it or tell you that you need to redo your medical.

Wow, The medical exam cost 320 euros and that's a lot for me so I guess we're not going to fly direct then. Hopefully we can find some good and cheap flights.

Do you mean that your medical exam expires next April, or you already had one from a different application process or something that expires this month? If it's next April, it's likely that you won't have to worry about extending it.

When I was in Washington, US I was expecting my medical to cost over $400 USD. Luckily, I was able to get mine done in British Columbia and it only cost about $250 CAD.

Yeah, medical prices can be insane in some places. I would have had to wait 3 months for a medical in Washington as well.

Telus like 70 dollar! per month

any tip to get fast and not so expensive internet?
