Are you expecting an interview? It doesn't really matter if we think it was a bad idea you have already applied.

I'm not sure who would qualify for waiving the interview...so im not sure what to expect about the interview...

I guess my question is...what exactly is the difference between applying in US outland VS her home country outland?

Hey taffy I sent mine in on the 9th they received it on the 10th nd signed the papers of recipient on the 10th let's see what Monday brings

Ook thanks gagan that makes sense than so we have to wait this week most probably thanks that helps a lot so if they received on the 10 than 12 or 13 is what it will say for the AOR

So i'm guessing you are the Canadian citizen living in the U.S with your wife. The U.S. is taking about 10 months from outland. Where did you get 30 months from?

Hi guys,

just received my SA today...it was really weird, i got my AOR through email on the 21st...SA was in letter, sent from Canada on the 23rd...Got it on the 30th...
I live in upstate NY...u would be surprised that a 4 hour long drive took them a week...
anyway, and file transferred to CPC-O...

question 1. my ECAS already shows meds received...so the next update would be interview time? would they send a letter or an email? would it be reflected in ECAS?

question 2. my spouse is in US (we both are right now), so we had the choice of either applying from US or her home country. the process time on CIC's website is actually shorter for her home country...was it a bad idea to apply in US?...it's a scary 30+ month said on CIC...is that true?

1 - generally us applicants have interviews waived. the next change on ecas will be "in process", which means an officer has picked up the application and started reviewing it. be prepared for ecas to remain the same for months and months.

2 - all us applications go through ottawa, as indicated on your SA letter. US applications do not take 30 months, that is when an application is sent to LA because there are red flags and the application needs further investigation. Your spouse's applicaiton is in Ottawa, which has a current processing time of 8-10 months. Since you don't mention what your wife's home country is, we can't tell you if it would have been faster. At this point, the application is where it is, and there's no point in wondering "what if". now it's just wait time.

hey all congrats to everyone who got their AOR , got mine yday! :D what a sigh of relief.

Thanks for the reply!
CPC-O currently has 15 months...so is 8-10 for US applications only? I saw the 30 for NY office since I chose to do my interview there...i was confused but i know now that i should be looking at CPC-O's processing time...My partner is from China, which have 9 months processing time...
good thing to know that they usually waive the US interviews!
