APRIL 2014 - INLAND APPLICATIONS

AMAZING NEWS!
I cannot yet log into ecas but I called the call centre and they were able to tell me the following:
- My medicals were received on Sept 3rd 2014
- Currently, CIC is doing my background check
This is great news which means that our applications are not merely collecting dust
I also did some further research and found out that:
- Criminal/Background checks begin after medical approval
- Criminal/Background checks + medical approval are part of the 2nd stage of the process
Which means:
- My application forms are complete and correctly filled
- I meet the eligibility requirements [I technically have AIP at this point but have not been informed officially nor have they updated my ecas]
- My medicals have been approved and checked
- We're only a few months away from final approval and I might be one of those who get AIP/OWP and DM at the same time

Did you file your OWP application with your inland application or send it after?
My husband got SA yesterday. Shortly thereafter, I got AIP and DM (in one letter).
