No, but I hope I get it soon...actually it´s very confusing, some people say that CIC is speeding up the process, but others say that a lot of people got the notification to give applicants the illusion that something is being done

No, they are really fast now. Some of the November applicant got in process by January 6, 2014 whose applications were received just on November 12, 2013.

I guess it depends on the local office - some people who applied in May and received RQ are getting the test invites...but it's in Ontario.

This morning my e-cas status has been changed to Complete. Here is my timeline:


We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on April 18, 2013.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on April 18, 2013. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on July 4, 2013.

We sent you a notice on November 22, 2013 to appear and write the citizenship test on December 12, 2013 at 12:45 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

We sent you a notice on December 23, 2013 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on January 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

You became a Canadian citizen on January 3, 2014.

I heard these days you can get passport for 10 yrs of validity. How about applying for Nexus Card too?

Yup, you can. I just got a 10 year passport. I have a Nexus card too, but I've had it for a few years already. I did have to go to a Nexus office and update my information from a PR card to a Canadian passport.

Awesome Suin, One question though. You said your file was supposed to be transferred to scarborough but it ended up in mississauga.

Do you live in mississauga?

5 and 10 years for adults, 5 only for children.

Do you live in mississauga?

No, my file went to Mississauga straight from Sydney. Never mentioned a word about Scarborough. There was no reason of possible RQ in my case - it was straight forward.
We live 1 hour drive from Mississauga.

When I called this morning I asked the agent whether there was any update on my file. He said that yes, the file was transferred to Mississauga and received by them on October 4. I was surprised that my file went to Mississauga as the Scarborough office is closer to our residential address.
I would advise you to call them again. Maybe Mississauga updated their database this morning as the long week-end is coming up.

And you said you live 1 hour drive from mississauga...well it doesn't tell anything. you could have said scarborough. anyways good luck
