More movement...e-cas has been updated again...this time with DECISION MADE!!! Here is what it shows:

We received your application for permanent residence on April 13, 2012.

We started processing your application on August 30, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

What does it mean by 'The office will contact you concerning this decision'? Does that mean they'll call us or something? Or does it mean that they are sending the passport back with the visa?

Surely this is positive, right? My wife's current home address is still showing our future Canadian address. I feel nervous...the part about the office contacting us makes me wonder...or am I just being paranoid?

Thanks,
FS

Hey FS,

congratulations, that's great - you're DONE! the wording is just the "normal one" that everybody gets, and most likely they are just sending the passport back with the visa, and nothing else needs to be done.
that was a fast process, now you can relax! :-)
Enjoy - and congrats again!

Thanks! I know... I'm so glad I stayed in this forum... it was a real great help. It took so long for me to get approval for stage 1... hopefully our stage 2 would be faster. What is the waiting time for Manila office now?

who's in-charge of the party? hahaha

Fireluck, I was looking at the April Manila spreadsheet
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ak0syqkNXIJEdGsyNWo3WFpHMnlZczZyaXh3WEpiOUE#gid=0
And it seems to me that they are making PPR's in order of the dates the applications were first received by CPC Mississauga, not in order of Sponsor approvals! It's only my theory, but no other months have got PPR's yet aside from April so I really think and hope we are soon in line!

A couple questions for you:
- Did you already fill out your personal history in the application package?
- how do you plan on sending the passport?

As for answers:
- I believe N/A is acceptable as per the instructions
- I also believe that the standard method of adding information to ares with not enough space is as you suggested. But make sure you reference the question properly on your additional document.

Cheers and congrats!

hey thanks for the response, but i'm done with it... i have included my personal history before but I beleive that they might have lost it that's why they are asking for it again... I have made a separate sheet for it and printed out from my laptop. I based my answer on the previous personal history I sent before.

Thanks!!! it was through email and it took two months for the visa office to request it. I got sponsor approval July 25

My wife got a call today from Hong Kong visa office. She had sent in her passport and another document requested last week. Her medical expires on the 15th of November. They said her Visa is approved and they asked her if she can land before the expiry date. She would have to redo medical if not and they would extend the visa for another 2 months in such case. She told them she will discuss it with me and they told her to send a email to the visa office with the decision. Of course we decided to have her land before the 15th of November.
So I guess our case is done. Visa issue date verbally today but officially within next few days, landing on Nov. 14th

We are among top 20% in processing time for Hong Kong and it is all because we did a good job putting our application together. We had 13 lbs of material, forms, photos, correspondences and evidence for our relationship and it showed that the more you can proof and show that the love relationship is genuine, the better.
Thanks all for the support, encouragement and well wishes. Every application will get a decision sooner or later and its worth every day of waiting.
Good luck to all.
I will stick around here and update if anything else important happens. I know how it feels to wait and maybe I can help the one or the other. :)

Way to go! That must feel so awesome! I know we are a LONG way away from that right now, I can't even imagine it!
