Thank you both!

Should I email notification (since I gave them my email) before an actual snail mail arrives? I know there were some problems with that for people.

it's a bit unpredictable! it's CIC... there are different situations - if you receive an AOR, that will be by email.
But you might not receive anything, or get a straight approval.

Approvals can come either by email, or by snail mail...

I received no AOR, and approval by email on a friday afternoon...

But if you get your approval by email, then CIC will not send you a paper version by snail mail - that will be the only notification. You will get a UCI and a file number, and with that, a couple of days later, you'll be able to log on ecas and see a little bit more update ( but not much, and not very reliable...).

It's stressful - good luck with the last waiting days, it will come!
Cheers,
Sweden

Just an update for the April group - They have requested missing docs for us, we have to submit them before September 30th, then we should approved.

What missing documents, if I may ask?

Medicals and photos for his daughters. I already posted in the Mexico thread, but we were going to submit these a long time ago but are lawyer told us not to. We were mis-informed unfortunately.

Depends, if you did not have them ready at the time you sent in the package, it was good idvise not to send them in later. I had to do the same, and I know we are going to be asked for them but we just did not have the FBI and the medical ready on time, and sent the package in anyway thinking we can send the missing docs when they arrive. But once they arrived, I realized I don't have a file number to which I can "add" them to untill they send me one. I called CIC and they advise (perhaps like your lawyer) that I should wait for CIC to request them (by then I will have a file number), and send them then.

Yes it will slow things down by a little bit, but at least they will not get lost or thrown out.

Absolutely and agreed, another mole hill really, I dont think it will cost us that much extra time, the file is open now and in process so I am not to worried :)

its my turn..... COME ON!

Dear Friends,

Please guide me as what u think. I today checked on e-status that the decision on my spouse application
has been made on July 26th and the letter was posted on July 26th. Its a little strange, as I sent the original
application on May 2nd to cic, mississauga, without Medicals (actually we got miscommunicated by DMP Agent) and I was very scared of application packet returning back. Then on June 27th, my wife did her Medicals and I sent photocopy of Medical with a covering letter to cic, mississauga. I am wondering how a decision is made. Also what does
the Decision Made means???

I would really appreciate ur thoughts and guidance. I have not received the letter yet.

with kind regards,
Godhelp

You will be seeing your approval very soon ! Congratulations...

I agree it's our turn! Just curious though how did you mail your app on a Saturday? Maybe it didn't get sent until the Monday then you're just a few days behind what you thought.

May be you should call CIC. I wonder if they are aware that they have skipped almost a month. Looks like we will have to go through the same wait as March guys went through. I now really think I should have delayed sending the application

Lol! Am on a week off this week (my school is closed for a week for 'summer break') and with our approval due this week, I do feel like I'm stalking the mailman! I swear, he's gonna start thinking I'm the crazy foreign girl who peeks around the corner when I think he's on his way! I'd kinda rather be at work!

LoL I know the feeling, when I was waiting for AOR/Approval, I checked my email a hundred times a day, my co-workers thought I was crazy. Also I memorized the mailman's delivery times for my area, ( at the time I didn't know if it was going to be mailed of emailed ). So he found me standing at my door, most days ( when I wasn't working ) .... Creepy :P
