Ok, ok...I take it back.

Mobeyk makes a good point, though I don't fully agree. I get the whole positivity thing, but honestly, when dealing with CIC (or any government agency), I think it's next to impossible. We shouldn't have to wait this long, for a start. I don't care how many people apply. The system is so obviously broken. We have paid a good chunk of dough and we all deserve faster service. Transparency would go a long way. Sort of like at Krispy Kreme where you get to watch how they make the doughnuts. You see, nothing will change without people making a stink. Critiquing is all we can do. Still, we are powerless, and I think that is the most frustrating part of immigration. Immigration is not a right, but if they are offering it, the least they can do is make the system efficient (no phone calls if you live outside Canada, yet they allow citizens to sponsor if they live outside the country - nice work, CIC!).

I'll save the gratitude until my wife lands in Toronto.

But, I'm definitely happy about getting the AOR from HK. Now all that I need to do is send the updated documents and I'm extremely confident my wife will get her visa within a month or two. A few cases exactly like ours and they all had the visa within 2-5 months.

good luck! it's almost there... probably your approval is being shy and standing in the corner not daring to come and present himself to you! lurking around... but soon soon! it moved to the 30th of April, so your file has been opened for sure, and they are just working on it. Hopefully by the end of the week ( two more days, a lot can happen!!) they will finish April, and start with the beginning of May - a lot of applicants from the end of May have heard something but not beginning of May, so ... it's a bit all over the place!

I'll kep my fingers crossed for you ( and a few other from mid april that are still waiting to hear from CIC) - but our spreadsheet starts to look nice, with colors etc - and soon it's your turn as well!

I'm sorry but I don't believe that... sent my app April 23rd and have heard nothing we live 45 mins from Miss. and 6 hours from Ottawa there is no way even if it was snail mailed it would take that long to get here. I believe since they are doing end of May beginning of April they have averaged it out and came up with April 30th... but I am hoping and waiting like everyone else that today is our day...

Woohoo!!!

I got en email today morning at 7:49 AM EST from Ottawa Pilot Immigration saying my sponsorship is approved, and our file is forwarded to New Delhi! I never received an AOR, but this is sweet The response is a bit late for my application date, but I am relieved and happy nevertheless!!

I keep checking E-CAS using my Client ID from my citizenship application, but strangely enough it still shows nothing.

Onward to stage 2!!

My wife just received an AOR from the visa office in HK!! Yes!! So happy!!

Now I can send the update intent to return evidence with my wife's UCI number...

I'm going to put Canadian flags all over the package so that it catches their attention...hopefully they will grant my wife a visa within a month or two!

Thanks. This will be the second greatest weekend in recent memory! First the approval on July 13 (Friday)...and then the AOR from HK on Thursday...

We are both very excited and we are so hopeful the VO will process the visa very quickly...there is absolutely no reason to delay the issuance of the visa...no red flags...strong proof...everything is textbook...come on HK VO! MMM GOY!!!

Not all VO send AOR... London doesn't, from what I have seen from the London Thread... so depends on your VO, not sure for Manilla....

My application is received on 3 Apr,but I could not get any respond. I have called to CIC,and Agent said that my case is not found in system. I said that the processing time is April 30 ,and why is not still my case processed?
Agent said that call centre only takes charge of information inquiry and let me send email to office. what should I do? does anybody meet this?

the only thing you can do is call again and speak to a different agent....some are very helpful while others are not....she/he should have been a bit more gracious seeing as your application was received April 3/12......try again and if not better results contact your MP........

ecas lets you see the status of your application. But you can only access it if you have a UCI number (ie, AOR, approval, or have dealt with CIC in the past).

UCI # lets you access the sponsor's file
Application/file # lets you access the applicant's file

Go to https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en to find out the status of your application. You can use your UCI or Application file number provided in your approval letter to access this. It shows the present status of your application.
