For the past month every update to cic website coincided with the last person on the spreadsheet. In any case the important thing is that people should not wait so much.

you're right there, but last week saw little movement so I suspect it won't jump quite so ahead. I guess we'll have to wait and see

Oh my God, i am stress out waiting for a good news from CIC and my wife called me that her country president in Ghana has died this afternoon. Double sadness for me today..............

Immigration is such a hurry up and wait kinda game.

I feel ya. My VO (Buffalo/Ottawa/LA.. whatever it is) seems to be at a standstill with processing stage 2 because they closed down Buffalo and sent applications to other offices. We'll be waiting a good awhile.

yea ... my VO was supposed to be in Syria, but it closed down due to the revolution going on there, so they moved it to Amman, Jordan.
The Amman VO was originally only doing temp visa's ( work, student, etc ), but now they are doing PR's for 3 countries, Jordan, Syria and Iraq .... so the backlog is HUGE
the average wait time went from 6-7 months last year to 14-18 months now ( A little more then double )

Guys, has anybody had any experience with changing status while in Canada? My work visa is about to expire, I've applied for a change of status to visitor, with 6 month extension of stay. If my work visa expires before they give me an answer on change of status, can I remain in Canada on implied status?

Of course, I'm only in this mess because I was naive enough to think that I'd have PR by August, before expiration of my work visa. Didn't think I'd still be waiting for stage 1 approval!

So I just got off the phone with CIC after about 4 hours of calling ... they recieved my application, but they need more info from me :'(
the agent told me he has no idea what the letter says, and I have to wait till I get it ... but the letter is going to me lawyer first ... sigh .. more delays ..

Has anyone else been in this situation ? if so how long after you send in what ever info they want do you get a replay ?
( only reason I got a lawyer was to avoid these delays ) :'(

missmymexi, were still waiting too :( im really hoping we hear some good news soon...

Kaede1977 - you can call them to find out about your status, because the date on the website says 11th of April, so you should call and ask directly and hear from them - they might have sent you a snail mail and it's taking a while...
Good luck!

In the meantime, I continue to wait... >:(

Hey CKnD,

Sorry to hear that, but at least you know your file is there, and they are working on it. For the waiting time - it really depends which documents they want etc. But some people on the forum has sent back information and got approved the day the documents were received, so it should not hold your file for much longer - as soon as your lawyer has the letter and you can send the documents, then you should be approved and moved to stage 2... at least there is movement on your file.

Good luck!

I don't know the definitive answer but I'm pretty sure that you can stay on implied status until you hear if you're approved with the extension. I saw that you posted this same question as a new thread.. I guess you didn't get an answer? Maybe send a message to one of the senior members (PMM, CharlieD10, scylla) they always have the answer =D

Sadly, no. You can only call CIC from within Canada. How dumb is that?! >:(

Could anyone pls tell me how to change my address with CIC cos i don't have a client ID yet and still waiting for the first stage approval since my application was sent may 3rd 2012. I called the the line but never got in touch with any agent. I was thinking of changing the address after the approval but now i am worry in case they send me a snail mail that would go to a wrong address cos i have moved.
