So happy to see other mauritians in this forum

I am mauritian too and sponsoring my husband.

I am currently in Montreal.. I have sent my CSQ request last week.

My husband status shows `application received`.. Nothing is written about medical. Is this normal?

Yes it's normal. For some it appears at the end of the process and in my case i had send them an email together with the tracking sheet i had received from the clinic. After two weeks it appeared on ecas and they also responded to my email stating the expiry date of same.

Oh, that makes me feel reassured!

But I am not expecting to hear from them so soon as the status has just recently turned to application received.

hi there....well i dont know coz i never check my status nor contact cic in anyway...
csq =22 workings day and if there is public holidays thn you can guess it will take another 2 days..

Are you the sponsor or the principal applicant?

Did ecas changed to in process yet?

All being done by my consultant ..so that i dont have to worry about anything..
But i have a feeling that you may get your passport request soon..end of month or sep 2015

We are also using an agent, GMS from Mauritius. He told us that we could probably get the visa by early next year if we are lucky.

Did ur agent give you any idea when to expect the visa?

Hi ..yippppeeee i got my passport request saturday and passport already dropped at canadian embassy ..

All the best i know its tuff waiting
Now have to wait for them to return the passport

Did you drop your passport at the consulate in Mauritius or you sent it to Pretoria. Also, did the principal applicant stay outside Mauritius for more than six months.

Honestly I don't see any sense in the process at all because the procedure for background check should be the same for all person from the same country.

I hope that I get mine soon.

Maybe it depends on whether you have been out of couuntry, how often, also if your sponsor is a PR or a citizen or how long your sponsor has been in Canada, etc... I really dunno what criteria they look at to consider a case as straightforward.

I wish that you fall under the fast track category as I do not want anybody to be in my place in right now .

I've never step a foot outside Mauritius and my wife is a citizen. I have stopped trying to make any sense about this process and take it as it is

I checked my husband`s application status some minutes ago....and it says 'In Process'!!!!
Does this indicate a good news (that is they are actually working on it) or is it just a formality? :-\

That's good news. Seems that Pretoria has picked up its pace. O ravel was in process for a month and received ppr after.

As for me I have been processed since March 2015.

Hope that you form part of the best case scenario unlike me

i dont know but i feel if you can avoid checking your file online its better ,,this is my personal observation on several cases ...and it was an advice given to me also.. i know its tuff but for best results its better.
yes no logic on their processing and no the principal applicant did not stay outside Mauritius for such long time.
I drop it at the Mauritius embassy which is better and no hassles.
ACECUBE i really feel you will get it soon late by next month maybe as your medicals had expire and you had to redo it.

and zara0804 try avoid checking online too much if possible remain calm for three month i know i am askiing too much
