Hi Everyone,

Kindly advise me on my next best step to do since I've got a confirmation from the bank that my BD is still outstanding. My application was received in the CIO last Sept. 27, 2010 but up to now I haven't received any feedback from them. Would I still wait for their response or shall I send an email to them using this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/csu.asp?

Hope to hear some advice from you guys.

i think u should definitely inquiry ...ur Bd is long overdue...CIO normally encash BD within the first 10 days off receiving application..

How many months does it take for the application to be sent to VO?
I think the bulk of the application processing is consumed by transit times.

Thanks

Seems like they have shaved off 120 days for submission of full documents so that they can get 120 days to transfer file from CIO to respective VO for post June 26 applicants. Do not know what sort of procedures CIO follow in transferring the documents to respective VOs.

FINALLY I GOT A CORRECTED RESPONSE FROM ND VO. It is as follows

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

Please ignore our previous email dated 06-01-2011, your file is in transit ( from Canada to Delhi office ) and Delhi office would intimate you, once we receive the file at our end, till then kindly await contact.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

was ur credit card charged in ur first application, within that 2 month period????

thanx ash

nope, my credit card was never used by the CIO during that 2-month period. They only charged my CC after i sent back the application with the additional docs they requested. What is unusual is that on the return envelope it was dated August 17, 2010 (stamped by Canada Post) and i only got it October 03, 2010 (close to 2 months in transit). Imagine that! :o Anyway, this might be the case for some people in this forum....

I am trying to figure out the benefit of cutting out the 120 day part of the process, if CIO take several months to get the paper files from Sydney to the visa offices?

Wayne.

I think it is not fair.

Old process will take at least 120days for get reply and support document sending. But after June 26 will be cut out it.

But from November to now is nearly 3 months passed.

I don't know process what will be.

Hello wayne,

I got response from singapore VO "Your application is pending review. Please wait to hear from us". It seems that they have got my application in their hand now. Otherwise they did not send me the above reply.
Some VO now getting our paper files.

Please give your comments.

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!
Effective 1st October 2010, CIO has engaged the services of a high tech courier company for the delivery of reviewed post 26 June, 2010 applications to their Visa offices, and in a recent chat with the CEO of the company SNAIL POST INC, Mr Camel Donkeyrider, he assured all applicants that the previous 120 days needed to submit documents to VOs, would now be reduced to an amazing 60 days, for all visa offices within 3 miles of CIO Nova Scotia office. On how long it will take to get to other visa offices outside this distance , he said, delivery times for all other Visa offices, are unavailable as sufficient final destination data does not exist.
All applicants have been adviced to be patient at this time, and wait for the next end of year update in December 2011 ;D ;D ;D

The point is I could deliver my own documents to London CHC within a day or two. It seems CIO are going to take a MONTH or two (or three??).

The idea of removing the 120 day process was to speed things up. And it didn't used to take 120 days. It used to take UP to 120 days. It depended on how fast the documents could be gathered. It might only take a couple of weeks if the applicant had prepared adequately.

Therefore I believe CIO's slowness at transferring the files is negating most of the benefit of the new system in the first place :(

I also think the CAP limit is nonsense and wont reach for most of the NOCs. So no improvement there as well.

Lol :)

Actually, the applications get sent to Ottawa where a diplomatic courier will transport the applications to their destination visa office. The diplomatic courier has (literally) diplomatic immunity whilst transporting these documents and cannot be detained or arrested until the documents are delivered.

Since there can be no delay at customs it should in theory be FASTER than a courier or postal service. But it just depends how CIO are doing it. If they wait until they have several hundred applications before sending them in bulk to the visa office there could be significant delays for the applicants at the start of the batch.

And also the arbitary number of 1000 seems pretty artificial as well, and not really representative of the actual number of immigrants in demand for each occupation, since surely the actual demand per occupation is different?
