I received slightly different reply.asaif said:Today, I got the craziest reply ever from London VO. As you may know, I have an old application submitted on Oct 2007, and another one under the new rules submitted on Jul 2010, each having a different file number. The reply was as follows:

Thank you for your enquiry.
The application was received on <old application date> amd your file number is B0<the old file number>
The letter acknowledging receipt of the application for permanent residence explained that the processing times for the skilled worker category is 42-48 months. Your application is still within our standard processing times.
When an application is ready to be assessed by an immigration officer, we will send a letter or email giving you 90 days to prepare and submit updated documentation in support of the application. Note that it is advisable to start gathering supporting documents before you receive this request to ensure there will be no delays to the submission. We regret that our office is unable to estimate when the letter requesting the updated documents might be sent.
You are not required to advise us of any changes to personal circumstances until this letter has been received, unless it relates to a change in contact details or appointment/cancellation of a paid representative.
Our office sends immigration decisions and information requests by post to the applicant to the mailing address on file. It is important therefore that our office be notified immediately of any change of address and contact details.
We are unable to provide any further information at this time.

It's crystal clear that they don't know about my new application, which means that the file has not reached them yet. They just entered my name into the computer and generated a standard reply based on my old application number, despite the fact that I mentioned clearly in my email that my application was under the new rules and that I submitted all documents alongside to the CIO. The funny part was that they used two different file numbers in their reply, the old one they got from their data base and the new one I gave them in my enquiry!
\carl128 said:Guys, remember why they put up the CIO, its because they want to reduce the backlog in each VO. Were more than six months now since they have issued the 6/26 MI and all we are getting is PER upto september and some october and tons of confusion coming from VO. CIO has to do some extra effort in correcting their system. It seems that the 2008 system is faster compared to what we have now, coz I know some people during those times got their PR VISA in 6 months.

No PER yet for me

Good for you Congratulations!!!!!!vicky1 said:hello dear all,
i just recieved my per.
but i have following confusion. anybody can guess?
1- name is misspelt how can it be for such imp document.
2- time of posting email is 6-15 pm Indian standard time. then is cio open at this time in ca.
kindly reply.
Cappuccino said:Hi Vicky1,
Firstly I can't see you details in the spreadsheet, could give us your details so I can add you in?
Time of posting is related to their email server so a strange time doesn't really mean anything Indian Standard time is about +5.5 hours on GMT, and Nova Scotia are -4 hours GMT, so therefore I think Indian Standard time 6.15pm would be around 8.45am in Nova Scotia. Guess someone got to work a few mins early or just the time their email server stamped on it.
Regarding the misspelling of the name, this is important to fix however I think CIO wash their hands of things once they send PER, so you will need to contact your visa office - quote your file number and tell them about the spelling.
Best of luck,
Wayne.
Yep, i totally agree with you. If CIC is so serious about getting these people in specific categories, why would they have to wait for a year? Will these categories remian in demand after a year or two? Their main aim appears to reduce the backlog because legally they have to accept all those applications. And i pray that you receive your PER asap.carl128 said:Guys, remember why they put up the CIO, its because they want to reduce the backlog in each VO. If I may recall, one member posted here before that the system that we have now is not to hasten the application but to reduce the intake and be able to reduce the pre-2008 backlog..With the rate we are going now, it seems to be true, but in the long run I think they will end up having more backlogs.

Hi Asaif, yes this reply seems quite a bit weird. Even if they had your old file, they must know of new (post 26 june) rules and since you mentioned it in your inquiry, i am not sure how they can miss it. I hope humans are working in VOs and not just the computers only....lol...asaif said:Today, I got the craziest reply ever from London VO.
