Dear Indira

Re: PCC

let me know how one can obtain PCC without VO request, as far as i know if you go to Police commisioner office they will ask for writeen request from embassy for which we r asking PCC for.

I think In india it is different from state to state, for ex.. in AP it is not easy to obtain PCC from PO just like that, and if u approach to commisioner Police office they will also take minimum 25 days to complete process.......

Anyway main reason to write is as far as i know u cannot go either to PO or CO and request for PCC unless n until u dont have written request from VO. may be the rules has changed... but it was like that when i applied.......

Hi FMA,

You know how it works in India :P :P :P. The police people always ask for too many paper work and then try to delay things, just for the sake of! Yes, they may ask for the letter from VO along with the PCC application @ a police office. But as far as the passport office is concerned, it's a fairly simple process and it is very very easy if you have received your new passport(either brand new or renewed).

The procedure is,

1. Download the Form no 2(link: http://passport.gov.in/cpv/miscell.pdf)

2. Fill the same and attach 2 address proofs and submit it in the passport office particular counter in the morning, along with the passport.

3. We can collect the PCCs in the evening along with the passports, as they will have our police verification reports with them already in file.

4. In worst cases, if they do not possess the PV file and it has to come from some other passport office, they will ask for a week or 10 days time and send the same through registered post :)

5. In case you have changed addresses often in the passports and your passport was not issued in that particular office, then they will take this week's time, else - 1 day :)

6. The fees for this is INR 300 :)

This is a central government process and hope it is followed throughout India.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Congrats Doctor.....

This is quite late ... but because you joined this small family NOW ....... 8) 8) 8)
I will just add your details. As for your query
(1) No body till now (with PER) is able to check their status online... it will take some time.
(2) You have to contact VO and inform them about your change of address ... which I see you already did ...... If possible inform the same at your old address ..... AND wait..... :o ??? :'(

Cheers, Anil

As far as I am aware not only can none of the post-June-26 applicants with PER check their status online, but also none of the June applicants and very few of the May applicants are able to do so.

It seems enabling ECAS is a manual process, ridiculously, and they are somewhat behind! Even when it is up and running some people have reported receiving med requests or PPR before their ECAS status is changed, so I do not think we should rely on it at all.

The best information comes from ourselves, sharing our experiences on this thread. As we've seen with PERs we are now able to predict people receiving PERs within a few days, so in a way it is better than ECAS ever was! :)

Hopefully once the first people hear something from visa office (we think this will be when they have their paper file and have placed their application into processing for security checks etc) then we will have a better idea of the next set of timelines.

Dear Harriranjith

one can apply from anywhere in the world, but u have to take care of few things while applying,

First what if u get an interview call, u r an indian and if u come back to india, then u have to go back to that place where ur VO is located to attend interview, unless and until they agreed u cannot change interview venue.

As u r working in Malaysia, remember anyone stays more than 6 months in any country then he/she required to submit PCC from that particular country.

I dont know what is ur profession, if still there is chance in CAP under ur profession in this year then go ahead and apply as it will close in June or after reaching CAP.

Keeping in mind above points u decide which country is good for you to apply India or Malaysia, if u ask me I will prefer India, as it is our country we can come anytime to fulfill formalities.

Cheers

FMA

Dear friend Kevin

That was very sad. You have to apply next year.
You have not mentioned it clearly- 'Why your file has been returned?' You said "doesn't meet the requirement .and please note the enclosed checklist for visa office new delhi" Was there any problem / deficiency in VO checklist?? ....... Please check your documents and the letter sent by CIO, and confirm the actual reason ....it can't be ''I don't know'' ..... that way you can't apply even for next year!!!!
Next year, if this NOC remains (I feel it will) ..... you can apply in last week of June / 1st week of July 2011 ...... it must reach after 1st July. By that time this new process will be in line... and I hope that the duration for application process (at CIO) will also reduce ...... All the Best.

Cheers, Anil

What about some PERs, Santa still has room in his bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To moegbenga,

I got your personal message, thanks. For some reason the forum said you had blocked my personal message reply to you, so anyway I will just post my reply here. Firstly can I please ask when did your application reach CIC, and what was your method of payment?

It may be worth giving it a certain time to see if your payment is cashed, at which point you will know that you passed the completeness check.

Post will be very slow over the Christmas period so probably not worth submitting a new application, if you choose to do that, until the New Year. What is your NOC code and how close is it to hitting the cap limit? If you have plenty of room left in your NOC for the cap limit I would certainly wait several weeks to see if you manage to pass the completeness check.

Wayne.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply,i honestly did not know how your personal message could not reach me,i am really sorry about this,my application reach CIC on the 1st of Nov 2010 and my method of payment is CC. Till now my payment has not being cashed,My NOC code is 2151,like i said in my PM to you,i actually discovered i made some mistakes when i met with Naija pikin, even if am submitting another application is definitely going to be after New year, all the same thank you so much, and am deeply sorry about the message you tried to send me.
