So does it look now that PERs are issued by actual payment date or receival date of application? I had the almost 30-day delay where I had to send in alternate form of payment as requested by CIO. So maybe I won't get my PER this year ... I hope they go by receival date ???

Dear friends,

Anybody has an idea of whether or not Visa debit cards can be used for payment or just credit cards are accepted?

By the way, they were quick to update this week;

Best of Luck to all!

Hi Katy,

I think it is only credit cards as debit cards are usually blocked by the bank directly for international purchases (to prevent fraud). I could be wrong about this though. This may be a round about way but if I were you I would transfer the required amount to your friend in Canada, have him draw a bank draft and send it to you (since you mentioned that bank drafts aren't issued in Iran) so that you can attach it to your application. This way is a lot more secure and he could possibly trace it for you as well. Hope this helps in someway.

They accept credit card but for safer side i feel that you should go for DD .. My prepaid card credit got rejected ( same as debit card) last time. I used MasterCard ( Pre paid credit card from BMO Bank).. If you are sending credit card also put CVV number in a separate sheet.. some bank may deny transaction without CVV number

Ok I updated the Projections tab, currently we are now looking at 9102 total apps received by the end of the year.

Hey Rina

Don't just go with my predictions ....... It may well be wrong ..... It's purely what I think ......
Most of the members have the opinion that it is as per the date of receipt ...... somebody has to differ, so why not me?? ........ ??? ::) :-[

Please don't get tensed ... Everybody will get their chance (one day or the other) .... that too a fair deal.
So don't worry, be happy ......

Cheers, Anil

Let's also wish & hope that someone also gets surprise gift like wakawaka and breaks 99 days PER receiving record and get earlier than that........ ;)...........
Cheers

Thank you dear Wendy for the warning.

Actually, I did ask him to provide me a money order or a BD and he did last time.I don't know why he didn't provide a BD instead and what the difference was. For sure he will do what I ask for this time as well. I just want to avoid putting him in more trouble in case it's possible to do it on my own with a debit card ,of course if it is safe and secure. Besides I just thought that cards are better because they are much easier to track.

Its mainly because 3152 (Registered Nurses) is reaching its CAP limit.....
Rather, by now it must have already reached ..... may be by evening itself they will update the same to 1000 ..... :'(

And Anilda,
Another factor is the dates of encashment as per our records and as per CIC records. There has been quite a significant difference in this date as per the previous people who have received their PER's.

I dont mind PER as a New year present in the New Year, as long as i get it.

Cheers

I guess, it's 'wait and see', lol.
Anyway, happy waiting everyone. Hopefully many members still get their PERs this week.

And Katie, I saw you mentioning that you sent a money order with your lost application.
In the US you can check on the status of a moneyorder if you have it's number (which should be printed on the receipt). You can try to find out that way if the money order was cashed or not.
Good luck. I really hope for you that this situation will be resolved soon.
