Only PER's will be by email. Everything else will be by snail mail. The Package and money will be returned. Hopefully, the money doesnt get lost on the way.

The money will not be returned at the same time as the application if the draft has been cashed. In the letter they will confirm that they have "initialised a refund" and the actual refund will likely follow 3/4 months later.

Hi - my opinion, and this certainly was true of pre-June-26 applicants, is that anyone failing the eligibility review will be informed by standard post as they return the entire application, NOT by email.

This means there could be a considerable delay getting the application back to you. Really I wish they would send an "eligibility decision" email regardless of whether you pass or fail, so if you do fail you can be at least expecting your application back and can decided what to do next.

I hear some people take up to 3 months to get their applications back (probably combination of slow Canada post and then customs at whichever country the application is being returned to).

The problem is if people see their date slipping past without PER, they do not know if they have failed OR simply that there is a delay making an eligibility decision.

The system is far from ideal and could be handled a lot better IMO - but this is what we have to work with.

You're preaching to the converted m8, when you talk about the utter ridicule of this system !

Give me a few weeks writing them a decent software system I could probably revolutionise the entire Canadian immigration system!

welcome to the canadian immigration system-- outdated processes, archiac software, no communication and utter darkness......god bless us is what i can think

i think they should open up the IT NOC again to have some "IMMIGRANTS" come and build a state of art software for CIO

Akrum66, are you sure your application was received on 26th August and not 16th August? Its seems a little strange that after receiving the PERs in a relatively orderly fashion they suddenly skipped 10 days and went to the 26th!

Oh well, as long as they keep coming and we all get a positive response!

When people sent email to CIO, did they ever reply in more than one email (disregarding that acknowledment one). I am pretty sure, that they are talking about the application itself.

Hey friends,

I hope everyone is doing fine.This thread seems to be lacking in its signature excitment. It's so hard to be waiting all in the dark, I know. But we all need to just keep our spirits up. 8) There's still a long road ahead and strange as it may seem in technology era, this road is gonna be dark for the best part of it. I wonder why they didn't charge us a couple more dollars to set up some system just capable of keeping us in the loop, nothing more. And the funny thing is that I read somewhere the reason CIC didn't move ahead prior to October was that they were busy with installing some ADVANCED software to take better care of the immigration process.

On the other hand I am still awaiting an update on my shipment to the CIO-sent off Dec 1st by TNT-but it seems rather elusive as well. I am coming to believe that something is wrong in Canada. My package was out for delivery some 48 hrs ago, but it its status is "In Transit " yet. Sounds ridiculous.

Anyway,come on pals, lighten up. There's always a ray of hope at the end of the tunnel.

Hope all the people in qeue will soon hear about their PER's. Lets pray for that!. Amen!
