Do you know how the CIC communicates the AOR, Med requests, PPR and etc?
Do they email or send through regular mail ?
I previously ( 2008 ) received AOR by regular mail.
I am not sure what they are planning for Post june applicants though.
Cheers.

Hi Cam,

I think all of us will have to do this before we move there; other than the crane operators I guess :D. I know it will be especially important for people who need to get licensed to practice their profession in Canada, like pharmacists, nurses and doctors.
Not necessarily. Those of us who got degrees from US Universities may not need degree evaluations as Canada recognizes these colleges without further evaluations.

Also, if you plan to start or expand your own business in Canada your best evaluation is your ability to create an enterprise that can survive and prosper in free market economy.

But it could be helpful in other circumstances.

Canada0801, is the above statement your opinion, or a fact you have read somewhere? My degrees are from well known US Universities, however, if you look at the Credential Recognition website you will realize that each province has their own provincially-mandated agency. These agencies are well recognized throughout the province, they will check your degrees and get your records straight from the Universities, later providing you with a detailed certification.

I am certain that it would make a difference for a Canadian company who is considering offering you employment, if besides what you have written in your resume, there is a certification showing your credentials had been verified and recognized by a locally trusted provincial agency.

We would certainly welcome any educational agencies to come and check with degree issuing authorities here in US and do as much verification as necessary, thank God it is not some far off land and records' verifications can be done rather promptly and without any delays or loss in transit by postal agencies.

As to US degrees' recognition in Canada, I was told by Canadians that US degrees are valued higher in Canada and also the accrediation is almost taken for granted for those who have degrees from well recognized colleges and universities here.

Of course i may be wrong, but that's what i have been told by Canadians.

Hmm, tricky one. It's very common for Canadians to study at US institutions, so I don't think US vs Canada really comes into it, it's more just a reflection on how the university market is grouped together in this way. Sure, if you study at Harvard, or MIT or Stanford in the US, that looks impressive to a Canadian, but just as much as it would to an American, or Brit. Same goes for if you study at Cambridge or Oxford in the UK. Most of the worlds top performing universities are in the US so I think thats more where the value comes from.

I won't opine on it any further since it is not my individual impression that Universities in US are any better than in Canada. In fact, I lack sufficient knowledge of comparative quality of education in Canada vs US to make such statement (which is separate from obvious fact of different ratings of each individual college within the borders of the same country). It is simply what we heard from Canadians so it is not even our own opinion.

As to evaluation, first, i guess everyone in Canada knows that if someone had over 120 credits and posesses a degree of bachelor of science from accredited US institution then by definition it can't be anything other than what it says it is in plain English :D

Second, i don't think it is practically useful in terms of job acquisition, but if it in fact is i guess one will have to part with those two hundred CAD's after landing in Canada.

Since My Original graduation Marks sheets were submitted to Karachi University at the time of Admission in Masters, therefore I requested for Duplicate (KU does not return Original Marks shees), and Now after a lot of delay due to unstablity in Karachi during the last month, My reltive got the mark sheet, but they Provided Only B.Com Part 2 Marks sheet, which means that the number of all Part 2 subjects are mentioned individually, where as only the total of part 1 is mentioned,

Now my question is; will CIC accept this marks sheet, because I am finding it very dificult, being residing out of country, to get the Part 1 marks sheet again, As university Reps. are saying that this marks sheet will suffice because it containes the total marks of part 1 as well, and they can not issue a seperate marks sheet for part 1.

Need your opinions guys.
