Anyone else noticed that it's been 7 days now since CIC last updated thier total complete applications page?

From 29h October to 9th November it was being updated every couple of days.

They must have been trying to give information for those applying for a NOC close to 1,000. I bet we will see similar flurries as other NOCs rise higher. It was good information to have just to see the pattern of applications across the board so it would be nice if they kept the data flowing.

Well I would like to think it's a question of someone hitting one button to copy the data from their live system over to whichever staging database they use for their web site.

However, knowing their current level of technology, and looking at some of the errors that slip onto that page, I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone doesn't get a piece of paper with all the figures on and manually enter them onto the web page!

I think if they leave it until Feb/March/April before letting people know if they passed their eligibility review or not, it is not only very unfair on the applicants, but they are also IMO in danger of breaching procedural fairness laws.

Their own procedures state they should inform the applicant if they pass their eligibility review, and do not include a provision for a deliberately enforced 6 to 8 month delay.

I think if CIC do not start getting AORs out for post-June-26 applicants, especially given that pretty much all of the pre-June-26 applicants have received their AOR, that they could end up with some serious explaining to do.

Erm, it already IS "this Tuesday"? :)

Dunno about your time zone but it is 16.40 here in the UK. I think it is 12.40 in Nova Scotia. So around 4 to 5 business hours left today.

Been checking that all day, and typically they update it whilst I am away from my desk! ;)

Our NOC, pharmacists, received 24 applications in the past 7 days. That's 3.42 applications per day, which means at the same rate, the 3131 NOC will be filled by 2nd June 2011, 1 month short of the end of the year.

It also means if these numbers keep rising at this rate that ONLY Nocs 3131, 1122 and 3152 (Nurses) will actually reach the 1000 cap before the end of the year. And I very much doubt we'll get 20,000 applications. Maybe 13,000 or so.

Not only is it unfair in regards to communication, but also in terms of slowing down the application as a whole. I want my pack to be sent off to Buffalo ASAP, not sitting in a box waiting for them to send it off. They decided to take on the responsibility of forwarding it to the visa office away from us, and if we have to wait for months after they've done their part for them to forward it, we're effectively being forced to let them do a poor job with our applications.

They can't pretend "Oh we've just finished checking we're sending it now" by delaying the AOR when it's obvious they've completed eligibility checks on a huge number of applications.

If the CAP is reached you cannot submit an FSW Category 1 application until 1st July 2011, and that's assuming that the NOC code is still on the list at that time (or even that there will BE a list at that time!).

However, if you can secure a job offer with a positive LMO, then the CAP doesn't apply and you can apply right away for Permanent Residence.

I am just disgusted that they can sit there and pretty much refuse to tell us anything.

They know they've told people that they've completed eligiblity reviews at least into September - how long do they expect people will wait to hear if they have passed their review? For many people this represents the likeliest place their application will fail, and in a sense is the most important stage to hear about.

Any other corporation on the planet would never get away with taking $700 from you and documents which took you 2 months to gather, and then tell you nothing at all for month after month after month.

All they need to do is post something on their website to let the post June 26 applicants know what is going on. They seriously don't have 5 minutes to do that? They'd probably save hundreds of man hours in queries.

Wayne.
