In my opinion, it's better to let VO's do their work and do not send queries at all. They process applications at their own pace and already have loads of work. On top of that, if they have to respond to queries, it'll further delay the processing. I am as restless and impatient as any of us but am restraining myself from sending the case specific queires. I know sending a query will not solve the purpose and I'll simply receive a standard email from the VO that your file is under process and you'll be contacted as and when required.
Wishing everybody good luck :)
Good point but not in all cases. After 1 month of London VO receiving my baby's application, they had no record that I have submitted it. It was after my enquriy that they told me they are still waiting for me to send his application to them. They have sent me 2 emails in the past 6 days still confirming that they do not have it but I submitted it to them personally. And that is about the only thing left in our case. I have ordered another B/draft today hoping to send another set of application to them on thursday but with quaranteed delivery for next day.

Best wishes to everyone

I feel you. I know many also feel the same way. As an Arsenal fan, I think I can now say, I know how Fabregas feel ;D It's hard to be in place when your heart is somewhere else.

On a serious note, I pray peace return to the streets of London and other cities of the UK soonest. These scenes are scary :(

acually i sent my enquiry many times but i didnt get precise response
i wish u can help
it will be long but this is my story

i sent my application and received by the cio on 25 feb 2011
they encashed my cc on 2 march 2011
up to first of july 2011 i got neither e mail nor mail from cio about my status
i became worry and according to the advice of some friends on forum i sent to them enquiry
the cio replied by giving me application number E0000 then 5 numbers
and stated that my application is awaiting review by an officer
i used this application number as file number on cio electronic site to check my status unhopfully
the surprise that i found the following
we received your application on 25 feb
we reviewed your application and sent you a letter on 31 march plz consider delay in mail delivery before contacting us ( my status till now eligability review complete)

i sent to cio another e mail asked how come to write that eligability review complete and u sent me a letter and i got nothing by mail or e mail till now
they replied as follow
No letter has been sent. Notification will be sent upon completion of the assessment of the file. It will be sent via the e-mail address on your application.

The online system (E-CAS) is a computer system that automatically updates during key periods throughout the creation and assessment of your file. However, at times the information that is transferred to the E-CAS system is erroneous. This issue has been brought to the attention of the appropriate party for resolution.

Thank you for your patience.
really i dont know what is happening ?
is the number they sent to me staring with E is my file number and if it is my file number does that mean that i got positive eligability review or i have to wait to have positive or negative decision

some people said that the next step will be received by visa office (my visa office is cairo ,egypt)
i sent asking my visa office did you receive my application they said no
today i got a response from cio sydney that my application according to their records are awaiting a review

I say it's worse. It has been almost 11 months since the submission, and almost 7 month since PER.

Now I'm afraid we have to the international differential fee for my wife's tuition in canada, which will double the tuition.

Hi, Shalom. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
Actually and sadly I am back in the UK now and alone again. We had a beautiful time together in Vancouver and at our new home. What a hard thing it was to do to leave :(!
I am trying to sell our house in the UK so we can be reunited and not having any luck at all yet, but I am trying to stay positive and be proactive about it. I am not one to sit still and just let things stagnate, so I am doing everything I can to find a buyer or make the house more attractive.
Hearing of all the other couples who are forced to be separate during this process on this forum has given me some courage - if others can have the fortitude to get through it, then so can I. :

Hopefully things are going well for you ;)? I have such a lot of work to do on my own that I do not get to look at the forum much and following people's journeys becomes hard.

Hi drahmed,

I and a few other members were exactly in your shoe earlier on in the year, so I know what you are going through and how you feel, confusion, frustration and all. You should ignore your ecas status for now. Your file is still under review and no final determination of eligibility has been made on your file yet. You will receive this by email when the review is completed. It appears that CIO takes longer to complete eligibility review on some files for varying reasons, hence the PER/NER email may come much later than usual. The date you saw on your ecas is most likely the date your eligibility review should have been completed but as it was not completed on that day you didn't receive any PER on the day. However it may not be possible to change this on ecas as it (ecas) was probably programmed to register that date as your PER/NER date. I know how frustrating this is especially when you are getting conflicting messages from ecas and CIO. All you can do is give it more time. Every single one of us who experienced this have now received our PERs. Others who initially received a NER even got a PER on further review. I believe you'll get a response very soon, hang in there buddy ;)

All the best...

All you need to do is calm down and wait! :)
Every time you contact them with Case specific e-mails is setting back your and others' application processing times and you have been contacting them a lot!
I agree they seem a bit confused, but every time you contact them a different person gets out the file and has to look over it and decipher what the notes mean and then communicate it to you. This means that sometimes CIo do not give you the corect information when you contact them.
It is best to just let them get on with it!
It is clear from the information that they have already given, though, that your file is safely at CIO and they have been looking at it, as they have given you a file number.
This is obviously valid as you have been able to check ECAS, which is good news.
They clearly have put something on ECAS that is incorrect but ECAS has been wrong for lots of us at times throughout this process, so do not worry! They get it sorted eventually :)
Your application is safe and is just going through the eligibility review. When it is done, they will send this result by e-mail, not normal mail.

Some while after that the status will change on ECAS but not right away, so do not worry if you get the e-mail but ECAS stays the same. It will change eventually.

After that, do not be surprised if you have to wait some weeks until your file is showing as at the Visa office - ours took nearly two months to show as RBVO.
Then expect to wait even longer before ECAS shows you as IN PROCESS. We waited 7 months from PER to IN PROCESS!

The more you contact CIO, the more confused you will be and the more stressed you will get.

The name of the game here is patience and it isn't easy for any of us, but if you keep contacting CIO about your file when there isn't anything wrong you will just make yourself worried and stop the Officers from getting on with your processing.

With CIO, no news is good news at this stage, I think. If they were going to reject you they would have told you with a NER, so be happy.
Be patient and wait and watch ECAS and your e-mail so that you see the change when it comes and can celebrate! :D
