It amazes me how us, Buffalo Applicants, are all so quiet and constantly checking for a ray of light and then we all get excited when we hear news ;D Hahahaha the fact that Buffalo is working behind the scenes made my friday ;D

The 35 pages are full of info about me, my wife and my 2 kids. including the assessement information, every work experience and every diploma, TEF results...., the date they create the file, and every operation done by CIO/Buffalo is recorded in that file.
If I hide these infos, the report will be useless.

If you are outside Canada, you can order them via some private agencies, they will charge you 40$.

How did you order them from inside Canada?

Hi all,

I've been inactive for a while thanks to a NER in Feb but now finally I can post some good news. We received PER yesterday. Please move us from the "inactive users" to the spreadsheet with following data (although it's a bit more complicated):
NOC: still FSW2
VO: still Paris
Application received: 23 Nov 2010
Payment method: CC
CC Encashed 1: 24 Nov 2010
NER: 28 Feb 2011
CC reimbursed: 10 Mar 2011
E-mail CIO "file under review": 14 Apr 2011
Request for new fee payment form by CIO: 2 Jun 2011
CC Encashed 2: 16 Jun 2011
PER: 7 Jul 2011

We haven't changed anything in our file or haven't sent any additional documents but we did send some inquiries and, more importantly, worked through our representative which is a Canadian government agency (not CIC though ;D) This means apparently CIO made a mistake the first time, which cost us 4,5 months. Let's hope they make it up to us by speeding our file through the VO!

Hi guys,

I got a PER yesterday almost 7 months after submitting my application to CIO and exactly 1 month after receiving an unfair NER.

My visa office is Buffalo so the drama continues. CIO has taught me what it means to be resilent so Buffalo, bring it on.

Thanks to those who offered advices (special mention to Indira and 9jcanada) during my unfair NER period.

Please reactivate my row in the tracker and update.

Congratulations! May be things will be faster in future, I honestly hope!

How did you apply for your CAIPS??

If you are living in Canada you can order your own CAIPS notes for free under the Privacy Act.
1) Go the site
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563B.pdf
fill in the firm with the required details i.e.:

a) Visa post (e.g. Buffalo, NY etc.)
b) File number (e.g. BXXXX..)
c) Date of Birth
d) Your Postal address (In Canada address only)

2) Check on the box for the CAIPS notes request in the form.

3)Provide a photocopy of your valid permit/visa in Canada (Person requesting).


Post all the papers together to :

My application has reached the CIO on 7th Feb 2011 and my ecas status is showing up as 'Received by VO' since April 2011. Can you share your experience on why my ecas status is not updated...

You can get your GMCS notes by using the E number received in the PER.

The B number is usaully sent in the 2nd AOR. Im my case since I didn't get any 2nd AOR from Buffalo, I received it in the notes.

My address is still not showing and when I click on the status it still says we received your appl° on dec 23 and sent you a letter on 9 of mach :'(, is this the normal way ?

I just checked the ECAS and my status changed to Decision made but I have not received my passports yet after two weeks that I sent them.

I sent my application on 26th of may 2011

CIO received it on the 2nd of June 2011

my NOC is: 7216

method of payment: C C

I have a pending application under old rules before February 2008.

we are 8th of July 2011 and it has passed 38 days without en cash my credit card.

Is it normal to take this long time to review my application and answer me whether it has been accepted or rejected?

I sent them an inquiry about two days ago and I don't know how long it takes to reply.

please anyone has an explaination and know what's going on tell me please please please.

I know the wait can be frustrating, but it's funny how people want to determine when and how VOs should process their case. After over 2500 pages of posts, it easy to see that processing is case-specific, and that application for PR takes time. It's also funny how people can get mad at the process - just would like to let people know that immigrating to another country is a privilege, and not a right, and the very moment you risk making desperate enquiries to VOs, you might actually be reducing your own chances.

First of all Congratulations. I am so happy. Today only I send a case specific enquiry to Buffalo because I am seeing my Ecas as IN PROCESS but I did not receive any med rquest yet. My brother (my best friend in life) passed away a few months before and there is a change in additional family info. So I added a question that also in my email.


Secondly When I got PER from CIO Sydney, my file number starts with B0...... but I am sure that that is not the Buffalo 'B' file number.

Thought to add some confusions to you and Maani.
