Thanks for remembering me in your wishes queencougar and I shall keep you in my prayers as well. While I am anxiously waiting for good news of my medicals request to arrive, I am also well aware that people like asaif, linkrink etc. have been waiting an even longer time than I. I hope London VO start paying attention to dates a little more and go about things in a more systematic manner.

On the other hand, I am also happy to see any news at all from them, so all good things to those who wait?

Wayne , PCC you sent with your application, was it from UK only? In that case they probably ask it again just to make sure that your are on the clear after you submitted your application. Although it's strange since PCC is valid for a year after reaching their hand. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I wonder what would be the case, if more than one PCC are submitted and you never visited one of the countries after application submission? Any idea? I am in this group of applicants. Although I have started the process to obtain freash PCCs from abroad but I just hope they don't ask to resubmit ( I submitted with Application package on OCT). I saw some applicants are asked to get freash PCC regardsless their previous submission. Again some applicants (Kollapuri ?) are requested to submit original copies of old one not fresh...Probably depends on visa officer who is dealign with your case?? any thoughts...?

Zahed
Hi Zahed,

Ours were for UK only since we have only ever lived in England. The checkbox just said "Updated UK" which to me reads that they want fresh ones.

Luckily in the UK it is only a matter of a few weeks to get fresh PCCs. For other countries it is a damn nightmare so the fact London only give 60 days really isn't helping when you have NO idea if they will ask for fresh PCCs or not!

My best advice is that if you are in the "window" for going In Process I would get PCCs if they will take more than a few weeks. It's very annoying to go to the expense, potentially unnecessarily, but then I imagine it's less annoying that having your visa refused for failing to provide the required documents in 60 days!

Best of luck,
Wayne.

By the way, VO Londoners, we have sent a well-worded e-mail to Minister Kenney pointing out the inconsistency of the processing at London VO both compared to other VO across the world and internally, when applications are not being dealt with in any kind of order, it seems and that was sent a couple of days ago so no reply as yet.
Also no reply to the case specific e-mail sent nearly two weeks ago.
We are as frustrated as anybody, especially as my husband must return to Canada on Sunday without me and then the separation and waiting begins all over again. We have been apart for 8 months now and I am sick to the heart every day of it.
When we began, the VO was confidently predicting 6 months for Cat 2 processing and yet here we are with no meds even yet and PER was in January. Even that for us was after over 130 days, when now we see PER for some lucky people after as little as 40 days.
It is a shame for all of us who are waiting from before Christmas because there is no pattern to anything.
Now kolhapuri has received something, maybe we and wenstumped could have cause to be hopeful? ;) Bufalo could do with getting something moving as well. Canadajimmy - we are still rooting for you.
Keep your chin up, everyone.
Hi Queencougar,

The discrepancy between visa offices, and even within visa offices, is very frustrating. But I think more frustrating is the utter lack of communication. Applicants are kept in the dark for month after month after month.

How much work would really be involved for someone at visa office to publish their work patterns and timescales, and update those once per week? It would probably pay to have someone do that full time, than to get the thousands of queries they get about application status.

I think CIC have taken some good steps in the right direction in the way they are now controlling immigration, but their communication given the amount of money we pay for processing is absolutely p*ss poor. Were it not for the fact that there is no competition (other than for applicants to chose a different country to emmigrate to!) they would not get away with it.

I know you had a long wait for your PER. Ours was long-ish - we had to wait 110 days. And we are now in the fortunate position of receiving our medical requests, but other London users who applied a few months after us got them a month before us!

There just seems to be no order to what is going on, and ECAS is so unbelievably uninformative it's hardly worth being there.

Why can they simply not show all information on CAIPS/GCMS on ECAS? A nightly program, or even weekly, can export live GCMS/CAIPS data to a staging database with a web front end (such as ECAS) and we could see a lot more data. Just laziness and technophobia!

I know you have been parted from your husband for far too long now. Hoping that your house sells quickly and that you will soon (and hopefully permanently) will be re-united!

Wayne.
