I just wanted to share this information for all those who are wondering how long does it take to get FBI clearance.

In the letter I received from them it says that they received it on 1/18 and returned it to me on 2/16 and I received my last week (don't remember exact date but around 3/1). That adds up to 6 weeks!

Also keep in mind that it depends on your place of residence how long it will travel before it reaches you. I live in US and 2 weeks is really long time for letter to travel, but it could be much longer if it is international address. I don't even know if they mail internationally? Maybe someone who had that experience can share...

Today, I received my FBI PC. It said that they received it on 2/7/2011, returned on 2/24/2011, the date on letter is 3/3/2011. I received it on 3/8/2011. I live in US now.

Well, all this is quite sobering. You certainly can't get better certifications than the ones above in Finance... and you say 10 to 15 years of experience!

But when I look on Workopolis and Monster there are plenty of jobs for finance executives with the qualifications you described. Have they tried getting Canadian certifications, such as the Canadian Securities Course which can then lead to a Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) Designation? Are they looking in Toronto and Mississauga? All this is certainly not good news for most 1122s...

To Bamalahh Thanks for words or encouragement, yeah i did mention earlier that if larger VO are struggling then they should employ more officers!! makes sense eh? I guess every so often we get an "off" day on this rollercoaster ride!! So for that reason Hope2011 no i do not think we should PM all our congrats as it gives us all hope during this long process!

PER is Positive Eligibility Review, this will be issued by CIO which means your application will be returned to your local visa office for processing.

I have a question you guys.

why does my ecas say in process and not CIO eligiblity review complete....?

In the details it says we received your application on 7th december and sent you a letter on 3rd March consider delays in mail.........

when I check the steps of immigration under FSW ....INPROCESS means it is in prosess at visa office...which cant be true because I got my PER last week....Just Confused.

Any thoughts

Today I woke up in the morning at 7 am with a call on my egyptian line from the canadian embassy in egypt. I have just opened my eyes out of deep sleep reading the caller id I had to shake my head and answer the call immediately and a lady saying hi, is this Amr ... ?? I told her yeah thats me She proceeded telling me that it's the canadian embassy calling to inform me that they will send a letter by dhl today to ask for my police clearance of egypt and qatar and for the medicals as well and I should be expecting it today or tommorow. I was crazily happy to see them communicating this way which raised my fear that they are checking on me and my way of speaking. No matter what happened did not distract me from asking about the so important question demanding a real significant answer about the police clearance expirey date for the qatari one which is a country I have worked by for a year and a half. She simply asked me " when did you do your police clearance of qatar ? " I told her in december 20th 2010 and her answer was " As long as you have done it after you left the country then it should be fine " and she finally informed me that I should translate the police clearances .

This is was my morning of today which I loved to share as long as the story can cool down the concerns about many of the people here )

Thx a lot for your wishes always with the best coming to you very soon. I could tell that its been late for you to get your 2nd AOR though I believe that the post in egypt is not trust worthy these days. For your info, my family knew the post man for years and they have double confirmed with him the importance of the letters coming and that was before my 2nd AOR. So hopefully as you previously stated, you will get your medicals straight forward Back to your questions, the caller was the canadian embassy in egypt phone line. I advice you to store it on your contact list once you get their call isA As per e-cas, nothing has been changed since it is showing recieved by visa office

Indeed. I have till 22nd June left on my work permit, thats around 15 weeks. Something tells me I'm probably going to need to get another one, and considering my employer has said he's not going to apply for another LMO for me, it means I'm going to have to start Job hunting, probably in April.

I Know what your stress CnadaJimmy, I am also on FSW2 and my WP will expire May 22. The only good thing is my employer is so cooperative and they will file new LMO.
